Camila was drunk.Like so drunk.
Not blackout, but close to it.
Her best friend, Dinah, had dragged her out to some club to celebrate their return to their college campus. The problem is that Dinah had left early with some guy. Early enough that Camila was only tipsy at the time. But after a few more drinks - drinks that she didn't know the alcohol content of - she was stumbling and slurring.
At this point, she knew it was time to go home.
She just didn't know how to get home, or which way home was.
She stumbled out of the club, fixing her eyes to the bright street lights shining down on her. She started walking a way that looked familiar, though she honestly had no clue where she was headed.
She turned around when someone's voice caught her limited attention.
"Hey, baby" The man who looked about her age said.
She couldn't really tell though; everything looked a little blurry and as if it was moving in slow motion.
When she didn't respond to him, he started moving towards her. "What're you doing out here this late?"
Before she could answer, he started again. "Where's your boyfriend?"
"Go away." she barely got out.
He grabbed her waist. "C'mon, gorgeous. Give me a chance." he smirked, smugly, as if that was going to make her swoon.
She fought to get out of his grip. "Leave me alone." she said, but this only caused him to get annoyed and grab her wrist tight.
"I'll show you a good time, baby." he said with bit of a demanding tone.
"I think she said to leave her alone." a stranger behind Camila caught both of their attentions.
The man rolled his eyes, "This one's mine, go find your own."
"This one's yours?" the stranger asked, incredulously. "It sounds like she doesn't want anything to do with you." they said, getting closer to the two.
The man huffed in anger, "She doesn't know what she's talking about. I'm her boyfriend." he tried to lie.
"What's her name then?"
"Uh, it's - uh." The man stuttered, knowing he was caught.
"That's what I thought." the stranger said with a demeaning smile.
"My name's Camila!" the brunette cheered as if it was an open question that wasn't directed at the man.
"Now, I suggest you get your ass back in that club before I call the police." the stranger says. (ACAB tho)
The man knew he had to stop his advances. He sighed with annoyance. "Fuck you" he spat and turned around to leave.
"Thank you." Camila slurred with a dopey smile, trying to focus on standing up and seeing if she recognizes the stranger.
Spoiler alert: she doesn't...and she can barely stand on her own two feet.
The stranger smiles back at her, knowing just how drunk the girl is. "Of course" they started. "Do you know how you're getting home?"
The inhibited brunette thought for a moment, then shook her head.
"Okay, I can call you an Uber, or I could give you a lift, if you're comfortable with that." they said, wanting to make sure the girl felt safe.
