After what felt like an eternity, Leo sauntered down to me, who was almost drowning in the water. That was because I'm standing over the couch, if not for it, I probably be drowning.
The water was just few inches above my neck and I feel suffocated.
I'm raising that pink diary high in air as not to get it wet. Leo took it from me and threw it at Antonio who easily caught it.
Leo told me to come closer to him so that he could drag me upwards. His words not mine.
I gave him my right hand and clutched his biceps tightly with the other.
The deathly grip tightened further when he adjusted me on his chest in a way that I'm sticking to him like a koala.
He was removing my left hand from his arm when I shrieked like a banshee and clung to him more tightly, causing the metal ladder to shake a little.
"Allegra, how am I going to climb this ladder without you falling, if you won't hold me correctly?" He gently pry my hand from his arm and around his neck.
Sighing in relief, he started climbing the ladder carefully. When we were few steps away from the top, Antonio grabbed me from my waist and pulled me towards him and out of the hole.
I slumped on his chest, breathing heavily. His hands were holding my palms tightly as if I would fall back inside it.
Leo came out of the hole with the help of Matteo and Rocco. Meanwhile Marco, Alexander, and Alessandro forwarded dry towels towards Leo.
Extremely giant towel was draped over me by Antonio, who kept rubbing my now cold palms.
"You are freezing, Alle!" He picked me up in his arms and made a run for my room and on the way, I settled my face between his shoulder seeking slight warmness.
____________.
Draping the spare pillow over my face, I hummed in delight.
When a sudden thought struck me, how did I end up in bed?
Panic settled deep inside me. Am I dead? Is it my death bed?
But that's just an idiom...right?
Or is it not?
I sat up in a flash, my hairs all over the place. I relaxed when I remembered that I was rescued not too long ago.
Or is it too long? I thought, as my gaze went towards the now bright sky.
Skimming my hand through my hairs, I looked over the clock on my side table.
11:40! That's too long. Wait when did I fell in the hole? It was somewhere between 5-6.
Damn! That is quite long. Beside the clock, was that pink diary of Rosa Dante.
Who was she?
And how does she know my birthdate?
Or It could be of someone else?
Yes, that could be it. But then what about the other dates?
I grabbed the diary and opened it gently. I re-read the pages trying to find a clue.
"There is literally nothing here." Whining, I stood up from the bed after throwing the book under the mattress.
After combing my hairs with the brush, I came out of the room and went straight towards the kitchen.
My nose took me towards the mouthwatering food settled on the table.
My eyes must be shinning with dollars after seeing the food. Meanwhile, my stomach made a rumbling sound.
