"Morning detective!"

"Hm? Oh, morning Bad." Dream replied, setting is coffee mug onto his desk.

Bad smiled as he took a bite out of his usual morning muffin.

"So, hafe you heawd they awe hiwing mo assistants?" Bad asked Dream with a mouth full of food.

Dream just looked at Bad with a half-amused, half-confused look. "I'm sorry, what did you say?"

Bad put up his hand to cover his mouth as he finished the rest of the food in his mouth. "Sorry, have you heard they're hiring more assistants?" Bad repeated.

Dream shook his head. "I thought they sent out people last month. Surely they can't have that many new recruits?"

"They don't. I heard they're sending people to help with that murder case. Did you know they found another body last night?"

"Wait, another?! Thats the second one this week."

"I know, right? I don't know how this guy is getting away with it. They must've found something! I mean- he glanced towards the door before leaning closer towards Dream -they guy the found last night, he was an ex-police officer. His name was Fundy."

That name rung a bell in Dream's head.

"Wait, wasn't he the one that found the last mass-murderer?"

"Mhm."

"Damn, any clues?"

"None that have been released to us."

"I suppose I would hear before you, since I'm lead detective and that."

"True, I'm surprised you didn't hear about last night though."

"I had a missed call from the department, it was modt likely for that. Didn't call back 'cause I was running late."

"Well, let me know if you here anything Dream."

"Will do, Bad."

Bad gave a final nod before continuing to look at his computer.

Dream sighed as he took another sip of his slighty cold coffee and began to look through the filed that were left on his desk.

After about an hour of flipping through file after file, Dream was able to go on break.

He gave Bad a small wave before exiting the small office and going to his car.

Once inside, he put in his earphones and pressed play on his playlist. Talking to the Moon by Bruno Mars began to play.

As he listened to the song, tapping his feet to the beat, he drove around the town, glancing at cars and buildings as he drove by.

He stopped at a gas station to fill his gas, which was running low.

As he was pumping, he noticed a black SUV pull in as well.

He took out a cigarette and lit it with a lighter before putting it into his mouth.

He watched as a boy, around his age, got out of the car and into the store.

Once the tank was full, he put the pump back into its original spot before stepping out the cigarette.

He got back in the car and parked next to the black SUV before entering the store himself.

Soft music played as the bell rung, signalling that someone entered. He walked to the back of the store to grab a bag of chips and water before going up to the counter.
