"come on sum, why do you want to walk, ITS VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS FOR CAPTAIN!" poppy yelled at summer from the other side of the school hallway. "i know i know calm yourself im coming" summer muffled as she hid her face in her locker. then a burst of energy finally hit her as she slammed her locker and ran right past poppy to the gym.

after the girls got changed and waited on the bleachers to see coach alton walking into the gym. "okay so girls today we are going to be doing the tryouts for the new captain next to the football practice." they all groaned as mrs alton spoke. "summer... sum that means clay will be watching us, isnt that exciting?" poppy loud whispers into my ear. "right poppy! we arent going there to watch the boys as much as you want to." alton raised her voice as poppy sat in shock at the fact she was louder than she thought.

all the boys started walking out of their changing rooms in a couple of huddles. summer stared right at kai as poppy started staring at clay in awe. "come on girls, lets go behind the boys!" coach raised her voice so we could all hear. even clay heard and his head slowly spun towards summer as he winked at her suprisingly without kai seeing. "DUDE HE JUST WINKED!! OMG THAT WAS SO HOT!!" poppy shouted as she shook me. clays ego went right up as she was basically feeding him. mr jackson started smirking as he heard that summers bestfriend was in total simping mode.

coach alton blew the whistle as the game started. summer was starting, as she jumped up and spiked the ball someone tried to dig it whilst sliding on the ground but only just missed. poppy started screaming that it was so close, she was put on the same team as summer. poppy fell silent as all the boys and the volleyball players stared at her giving her the look to shut up.

nothing else exciting happened after the game started. it was just hitting the ball and missing it. gaining points and giving the other team points. "volleyball players! back on the bleacher now please!" coach alton demanded as the football coach did the same. summer never figured out his name and she thinks no one on the football team even does. "alright, so great job today girls! you all did great but only one person will be leaving here with the joy of being captain." poppy started squealing and squeezing summers arm as she got really excited on who it was going to be. "alright so miss jordan! congrats you are officially the volleyball captain!" everyone started clapping but the only clapping you could hear was poppy really slapping her hands together like it was going to kill her if she didnt. clay looked over at the girls and his eyes made quick connection with summers as he pointed to kai that was telling her he wanted to speak to her. summer and kai both walked behind the coaches and the stand at the other side of the gym for him to say "i am going out after this so i wont be able to drive you home, and we know poppy lives in the opposite direction of us so ive got clay to drive you since we live like 5 seconds away from him" summer nods her head in agreement but secretly she wanted to fall and die right now on the spot.

summers pov:
"why clay? i hate my brother so much sometimes!" i said in my head and groaned outloud as i sat back down next to poppy. "so what happened?" she smirked and asked me. "LETS GO BACK AND GET CHANGED COME ON HURRY UP!" both the coaches shouted. we all stood up and walked down a hallway to the changing rooms. "ive got to drive home with clay because my brother needs to do something after this thats more important than me" i groaned. clay heard everything i said and turned around just to wink and say "im the best" to me. obviously this made poppy start simping once again.

clays pov:
"maybe this is my chance to get her not the hate me anymore" i thought. kai spoke "yo thanks dude for sorting out my sister, ill repay you". we all went into our gendered changing rooms and started changing to get back to the car park. "damn this girl takes a long time" i quietly spoke out loud. "which girl?" a voice speaks behind me. i quickly jolt around to see summer stood there with poppy a couple metres away just watching from afar. i was quite tall compared to her, i was 5"11 and she was 5"7. her blonde hair started blowing in the light wind. her grey eyes looking at her phone then up to me. god this girls freckles are just so cut- "you okay there??" she spoke taking me out of my thoughts. "take a picture it will last longer" she said as she walked right past me towards my grey range rover. "sorry about that, lets just say it never happened" i quickly said as i approached her already standing at my car.
"alright, only if i can have aux" i nodded my head allowing her to play music. anything to make her forget that. "by the way i need to pick up harry from soccer and then get zoey from her friends house" she looked at me give me a look to say 'okay'.

"harryyyy, how was soccer man??" summer spoke to my little brother. "why cant she get along with me aswell?" i thought to myself. "because she doesnt like you." i heard summers voice say. to my surprise i didnt think it, i said it. we picked up zoey then headed back to our houses while the song 'fuck the police' by nwa came on. "is harry allowed to hear the n word and swearing a lot?" summer asked me as she turned the song down. "no.." i look at her "turn the song off summer." i turned back to the road as the song (any song of your choice that is not mask or roadtrip) started playing and we listen to that song for all the way back to our houses.

i have school tomorrow so i need to sleep so nighty nighty.
make sure you have drank and eaten today.
