I look outside the window and started to wonder why I came back here... after nine years .Those nine years, were amazing. My career grew , I've made great friends and I couldn't ask for anything better. When I got the phone call from my mother whom I haven't spoken too ever since I left saying to come back because my father had gotten sick and wanted to see me . I was curious to hear what the man wanted to tell me .
« Hey miss , there's your stop »
« Thank you sir and keep the change » I said giving him a twenty dollars bill.
I look at the tall building and sigh.
« Hello » I said to the receptionist .
She looks up and smile « Hello, how may I help you? »
« I came to see Samuel Park » I answered .
« May I know your relationship with the patient and can I see your ID please » the receptionist asked.
« Sure, I am his daughter » I said while giving her my ID.
« Okay, it's all good , your father's room is 406 on the third floor » she said giving me my ID back.
I got out of the elevator and searched for the room number. As soon as I spot the room, I got nervous. Maybe I shouldn't have come after all.I took a deep breath and opened the door.
The first thing I observed is that my father was not alone. Sitting next to him on one side was mother and on the other side was an old couple I knew too well and next to them was their son.What the hell are they doing here.
« Kaena honey » mother said and came to hug me . an awkward hug I must say.
« Hello mother » I smiled knowing damn well I'd rather be anywhere else than here.
I look at my father to see him staring at me coldly.Nothing new.
« Hello father » I said sitting on the chair next his wife.
«Kaena, I hope you haven't forgotten the Delucas » He said
I looked at them and give them a small smile only Georgio Deluca acknowledged me while Enrico and his mother Martha chose to ignore me.
« Why am I here father » I asked wondering what the Delucas are doing here.
« Kaena, we are all gathered here because of business. As you can see, my health is not good and I can't take care of the company anymore ». I look at him and said « Don't you have people to help you take care of it ». He looks at me and smile ... I didn't like that smile. « That is where the Delucas are entering. We are going to merge our companies. » I look between my father and the Delucas « That's it, that's why you made me come here, just to tell me you're giving the company away. You know that I don't care about your company » I said getting up and ready to leave.
« Your father said he is merging the company not giving it away » As soon as I hear his voice, I turned to look at him « Don't you want to know how the merge is going to happen? »
« How? » I said not liking where this is going
Enrico smiles coldly and said « By you marrying me ».
