Author's Note: Hello! I hope you're still here. Thank you for reading if you are, and giving me a chance. (Again, not my fanart, but so cool!)
"What is that?!" Tanjiro screamed, pointing at the train zooming past him, inches from his face, his haori in Zenitsu's hold.
"I told you not to go over the tracks!" The now golden-haired boy scolded, his eyes wide. "You could've been run over!!" He then looked around, scanning the crowded city. "Where's Inosuke?!" The boy with a boar's mask seemingly vanished from his spot with the group a few minutes earlier. "I knew it!!!" Zenitsu screamed. "He's disappeared!!!" Just then, a loud yell interrupted his panic attack,
"Fight me, powerful creature!!!" They both turned around to see him snarling and bracing his swords at a paper dragon head, and started to leap at it, people watching.
"Stop it!!" Zenitsu shouted, pulling out his own sword to stop Inosuke's, the two slayers falling to the ground. "We need to find this demon slayer!"
"Don't interrupt me, cowardly crybaby!!" Inosuke barked, standing up and facing the paper dragon again. "I said: Fight me!!!!!"
"Stop! Inosuke, Zenitsu!!" Tanjiro said, holding the fearsome boar-headed boy by the shoulders. "We need to start looking for the demon slayer. Now let's go over it again." Tanjiro started to pull out the scroll that the messenger crow dropped off.
"Blah, blah, blah. I can find her with my Beast-breathing, no sweat!! So save your little piece of paper, Tahiro." Inosuke boasted, Tanjiro rolling his eyes.
"Stop, Inosuke. Okay. In the city of Janfaru, brown hair, tall, light skin, brown eyes. Dark orange haori." Tanjiro recited, Zenitsu coming in behind them.
"No picture. Anyone in this city could have brown hair and brown eyes!!" He screamed, pulling the skin near his eyes. "We're gonna be here forever!!!!!!"
"Would you just shut up!?" Inosuke roared, smacking him on the head."Stop it!!" Tanjiro said as Zenitsu rubbed his head. "Come on, we'll be late for our meeting with Mr. Kaji." The group walked off, the crowd of people growing as the Sun rose. The tall buildings and hanging lanterns certainly made the place feel foreign, but not scary.
"Can't we stop somewhere to eat?" The shirtless boy grunted, clenching his rumbling stomach. "We walked all the way here!!"
"Don't worry, Inosuke. We're almost there. I'm sure Mr. Kaji will have some tea when we get there." Tanjiro smiled, as they approached a rickety old building.
"Tea?! I drink the blood of my enemies!!!" Inosuke screamed, his voice echoing through the now empty alley.
"Uh...Tanjiro....when did the alley get so empty!?" Zenitsu panicked, looking around, only a stray piece of paper fluttered across the street.
"It's okay Zenitsu, Mr. Kaji is right in here." The green-checkered boy said, opening the door. "Mr. Kaji? We're here." The 3 stepped inside, their eyes widening as they saw what was inside. It was brightly lit, and beautifully decorated. The smell of fresh butter bread and tea wafted into their noses, and Inosuke shoved past them to grab and shove 3 bread buns into his mouth at one time.
"Mr. Kaji?" Inosuke muttered through a mouthful of food. An elderly man, short in height, sat at the table, a small smile on his lips.
"I am very happy you've made it here unscathed, demon slayers." He said. Slowly, with an old tone to it. "Please sit and help yourself."
"Thank you." Tanjiro bowed as Zenitsu cautiously grabbed a cup of tea from the table and sat down as well, Tanjiro joining soon after. They ate in silence for a while, the small grin never leaving Mr. Kaji's face. "So...you said you knew some more information about this demon slayer we need to track down?"
