"What the fuck!"
You instinctively duck away from the force of Pico's fists, "Jesus fucking Christ it's just my face."
The lights flicker on; revealing a panicked Pico in pink sweatpants with cow patches and a matching oversized hoodie.
Pico suspiciously glares at your face mask, "Shouldn't that look cute or something?"
You roll your eyes, "Just call me ugly and get on with your evening."
"Fine. You're ugly. What are you doing here this late anyway?" He asks as he reaches over you and grabs the box of cereal from the shelf.
"Getting myself a midnight snack."
He stares incredulously at the giant bowl of ramen in your arms, "I don't think you understand the concept of a 'snack'"
"Well. It's a snack."
"But it's not-"
"Pico. The weather seems absolutely terrible for a night out, doesn't it?"
Pico places his lips in a thin line and resumes his attention to pouring the milk.
It's quiet for a few seconds, and you take the time to watch Pico mind his business. You hadn't truly noticed it before, but he's got a similar body build to Danny, except for a paler, less muscled and flushed complexion, plus a cluster of freckles to tie up his overall appearance.
He was someone most could collectively agree to be conventionally attractive.
"This the first time I've seen you in any other color but green."
He quirks his brow in genuine surprise, "Really?"
You nod.
"Dang, I guess I might've been a little obsessed with that color."
"Why?"
"Do I.. need a reason?"
"I mean, no? I'm still pretty sure you've got one."
Pico sighs and places the box back on the shelf. He turns around and leans against the kitchen counter, his eyes concentrated on a spot on the plaster wall, "My ex once said it was a cute color on me.." His tone is a quiet mumble as if he's ashamed of this revelation.
"That's.. cute. I think.."
This prompts a chuckle out of him, "You think?"
"I mean.. yeah? It depends. Was it a toxic suggestion or were they being cute?"
Pico stares at his bowl and quietly chews at his flushed lips, he seems lost in thought.
You take the chance, "Soo.. how long were you two together?"
"Few years."
"That's.. pretty vague.." you murmur carefully.
"Well." He quirks, straightening his posture, "Guess that could mean something along the lines of 'not your business.'"
Your eyes roll as though in reflex, "I guess- you're right..." you mumble, "But at least let me know what I'm dealing with. You live with me for Christ's sake."
"Understandable, but I still don't see why I should." Pico shoves a spoonful of cereal flakes in his mouth, "Hey," He points at you with the empty metal spoon, "Maybe if you gave me a convincing plea, I'd probably reconsider."
You sigh dramatically. "Ohhh my ghodhh.. never mind then. Keep your secrets."
Pico smirks at you and gives you a firm nod, he takes a second to finish chewing before he verbally says, "That. I will."
