Aizawa
Knock. Knock. Knock.
What the Hell?
Rolling over onto my side I peered at my alarm clock reading the red flashing numbers through sleepy eyes.
2:19 Who the fuck is that, at this ungodly hour?
Tossing the covers aside, I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and shoved my feet into my slippers. I was tying my messy dark hair back from my tired face as I unlocked and opened the front door.
I was nearly blinded by flashing red and blue lights. Rain came pouring down on three figures. Officer Sansa Tamakawa and Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi were at my door with a teenage girl standing between them.
My eyes widened as I recognized the dark haired girl. I had seen photos of her every year for the last seventeen almost eighteen years.
Alina. It's her. She is here. But why?
"Sorry to wake you, but there's been an incident."
"What happened?" I asked, swallowing hard. My heart lurched into my throat at his words. If she was here it could only mean one thing.
No, no. It has to be something else. It has to.
I couldn't take my eyes off of the girl. She was soaked to the bone from the rain. Her raven hair clung to her face and neck. Her golden eyes were cast down. Special cuffs were placed around her wrists to hibernate her quirk.
Curious about that, I looked to the officers in question.
"I think you should sit down. May we come in?" Naomasa asked. I stepped aside. A feeling of dread loomed over me.
The three of them filed inside and sat on my sofa. Alina sat alone on my recliner. Her hands were folded on her lap. Her wrists were chafed from the cuffs.
I had requested they remove the cuffs. They weren't necessary. Not only did I believe she wasn't dangerous, I could nullify her quirk if I needed to.
I had given her one of my t-shirts and a pair of my shorts to wear while her clothes dried. She hadn't spoken a word. She couldn't even look me in the eye. Perhaps I reminded her too much of her father?
"What's going on?" I asked. I peered at Alina from the corner of my eye making sure she didn't suddenly attack or faint. That, and her similarity to her mother was uncanny.
She looks just like her. She has the Aizawa thick dark locks, but her face, her eyes- they are all her mother's. Wide cat-like golden eyes that seemed to move like liquid beneath thick lashes casting shadows on her porcelain skin. She even had the same beauty mark. A delicate mole beneath the corner of her eye.
"When was the last time you've spoken to your brother?" Naomasa asked, leaning forward, breaking my thoughts.
"I don't know. It's been years. Why?" I asked, turning to face him. The girl sat silently with a clenched jaw. Her unwavering eyes were trained on a single spot on the floor. Her golden eyes were crazed and yet she remained still. Like a wild storm was brewing inside of her.
"This is Alina. Alina Aizawa. Your brother's daughter. Your niece."
"I know who she is. Why is she here?" I asked in a bored tone. I tried to hide my interest.
What is she doing here? Did something happen to my brother? Did something happen to her? Why else would she be here?
"Here." The Detective handed me an envelope addressed to me along with a file. Putting the envelope down I peered into the file and frowned. My stomach dropped into my feet. Had I not been sitting I would have fallen over.
