Alina
Steam from the shower rose all around me. The slightest movement caused the mist to swirl. Despite the hot water running in rivulets down my skin, I still had a cold chill set in my bones.
Anxiety pooled in my stomach, and rose into my chest. I was so nervous to meet the other students in my class. My uncle said I would make friends. Bakugou said even though they have improved over the last couple of years, he was still number one to beat.
Whatever that means.
Still I couldn't help but worry.
What if they don't like me? What if they do?
Turning the water off I stood for a long moment letting the water drip from my body to the drain at my feet.
I can do this. I can do this.
I took my time meticulously combing my long hair, and brushed my teeth, and fangs. I chose a pair of gray skinny jeans and a black camisole under a white collared half shirt.
My bedroom was sound proof, so I didn't hear the voices of the others until I stepped into the hallway. As I rode the elevator down it stopped on my uncle's floor. He winked at me as he stepped inside and rode the rest of the way with me.
"Nervous?" He asked.
"Nope." I lied.
Fixing me a sideways glance my uncle snorted.
"You're practically sweating." He stated, "Don't worry. You will be fine. None of these kids will hurt you. If any of them would it would be Bakugou, but apparently you two get along swell."I could hear the annoyance in my uncle's tone. I would think he would want me to make friends. I didn't understand his hostility toward Bakugou. I didn't see him as anything more than a friend and trainer.
"I'm worried I might get... overwhelmed." I swallowed hard. I had finished two more bags just to be on the safe side, but the animal inside was always trying to get out.
"I believe in you Alina. You just have to learn to believe in yourself." He patted the top of my head as the doors opened.
I followed him to the common room where over a dozen others were laughing and talking amongst themselves. I recognized the green haired boy with the freckles, and the brown haired girl with the rosy cheeks from my tour.
Bakugou was lounging on the recliner talking to a boy with red spikey hair.
"Alright everyone listen up." My uncle announced himself. The students quieted. All eyes peered around my uncle as they spotted me trying to hide behind him.
My eyes met Bakugou's across the room. His expression was bored, but his eyes had a light of humor in them. He was enjoying my embarrassment.
"This is Alina. She will be joining our class from here on out. I expect all of you to welcome her and treat her with respect. That is all." My uncle concluded his speech. With a wink to me he left me to my own devices. The students proceeded to gawk.
"Hello..." I hesitantly waved. Anxiety rose from my stomach and nearly choked me. I suddenly felt very warm and a little light headed.
"Hi! I'm Mina. Our names are really close. What's your quirk?" A pink girl with short pink curls popped up into my view causing me to stumble back a step.
"Oh my God Mina, you can't just ask someone what their quirk is." The boy with the red hair that had been talking to Bakugou stepped forward.
I could see now that he has kind eyes, and pointy teeth, but a nice smile overall. He seemed friendly enough.
