Hai coquettes! I didn't intend on being gone so long but I'm back now and happy to update my guide <3

So once you have your basics down, it's time to customize!
This is mostly why I love getting second-hand items bc they're much easier to paint and customize.
Paint: my fav is chalked chalk paint bc you generally don't need to prime, (but you 100% NEED to use a top coat on chalk paint otherwise it's impossible to clean) and if you buy white paint you can mix in a little bit of acrylic paint to make pretty pastel colours.
I did this with the chair pictured above! (that I got for free btw)
A can of paint might run you a bit of money to start, but you can use it on multiple items you can get for really cheap, saving money in the long run.
Make sure to lightly sand any wood items that have a shiny coating on them and check to see if you're dealing with solid wood or particleboard!! You can't paint particle board the same way you'd paint a regular item, or at all in a lot of cases.
Knobs and other accessories: I get these from the thrift store! or I'll use the original hardware and spray paint it the colour I want. I really like the Rust-Oleum metallic paints.
Decals and speciality items: Etsy is THE place for things like this, adding floral moulding and antique floral decals to furniture make it look as cute as a vintage teacup!
Moulding looks like this, and can be put on anything depending on if you get stiff or bendy ones!
Decals look like this!
Now I've never personally used either but youtube has countless tutorials for applying both, and it seems pretty easy. I'll make a short chapter for videos I found helpful and a link to my own video of how I did my chair ♥︎ 🍒
