Drake sat in the office room now, his hands still cuffed. The officers had been questioning him and drilling him for at least two hours. He was so done with this shit.
Where was Riot?
"Mr. Drake, numerous witnesses have spoken that you have illegally gotten past government regulations and have brought back specimens from the planet Klyntar, a place swarming with these creatures that bond particularly with humans. They stated that you were at the operations of this upbringing and even brought in homeless people from the streets to use them as tests subjects. Is this true?"
Drake sat silent.
"Mr. Drake, I advise you to answer," the officer said sternly. "I can't force you to talk but it would be very beneficial to the team and to others if you did."
Drake sat silent.Riot and Venom crouched together on the building ledge, looking down at the police station and the jail.
"What's the plan?" Venom wondered.
"I was thinking maybe more of a direct approach," Riot growled. "Maybe bite off a few heads here and there for good measure..."
"We are not doing that!" Eddie said shrilly inside of Venom. "Tell him that."
"We cannot eat innocent people," Venom stated. "It is wrong."
"Your morals of right and wrong are not the same as mine," Riot replied. "We may be the same kind but we are definitely not agreeable with each other."
"I agree."
"Come on, man, seriously? This is a serious situation," Eddie said.
"Sorry, it was too much to pass up," Venom grinned.
After a few moments of quiet silence, Riot grunted.
"Let's go."
The two symbiotes made their way towards the building. Venom glanced at Riot and saw that the symbiote was finishing off the host he had been with to creep along in blob form towards one of the men stationed outside.
"What's he got planned? I'm sort of in the dark here," Eddie said.
"You're always in the dark, Eddie," Venom chuckled and went around inside Eddie now. Riot said to be a distraction. So do what you do best.
"And how am I going to be able to do that?"
Easy! Just be yourself!
"Haha, thanks."Riot moved the guard down the hall, making sure to check each room before moving on.
Where was he?
Riot growled in frustration.
Where was that dumb little bitch boy?
This building was too big. Maybe he needed to find another host. One that actually knew where Drake was being kept.
Riot slid into a nearby vent and crawled his way through it, trying to find some sort of help to assist him in rescuing his human.
Yes, it had recently come to Riot's attention that he would eventually find Drake here. But what to do or say? What if Carlton didn't want him back? What then? Well, he didn't get a choice, Riot thought smugly. He would have to force Riot out of him again just to have Riot reclaim him a few moments later. This would happen again and again until Carlton grew tired of the same thing happening over and over and finally submit and allow Riot to return fully.
Riot knew his old host well and delighted in making him happy. If Carlton wasn't happy with him, then, too bad. Riot would make him happy. Give and give and give until the man was overflowing with gratitude.
Riot didn't understand why Carlton couldn't understand the situation. It was complicated, sure, but even Eddie had seemed to understand and that sad little meat bag couldn't even process what he was eating most times. So why hadn't Carlton been able to understand? That's what puzzled Riot.
The symbiote slid along the smooth vent, trying to find a way to his human. How long had he been here? Five minutes? Didn't matter. It felt like hours to him. Hours and hours of endless searching, only to come up dry and empty.
Dropping out of the vent and onto another officer, Riot slid into his body easily, making sure to be quick and careful. He couldn't get caught. Not now. Not when he was so close.
Oh!
This person has bundles of information!
Especially about Carlton! Riot was excited and quickly scanned through the man's memories, finding the exact location of where Drake was last seen at. Grinning, he chuckled.
Whoever was with his human when he got there would definitely be very very dead.
He would make sure of it.Drake sat silently in the room, the three officers standing around him, two in the back of the room and one at the table in front of him.
"Mr. Drake, it would seem as since you have not answered any of the questions in regards to your accusations that you are indeed guilty," the head officer said. "If you attempt to at least answer the questions then you have a better hope of defending yourself in court. I hope that—"
Suddenly the door burst open and another officer entered. His eyes rested briefly on the others but remained on Drake's the whole time he spoke.
"Sir, Mr. Drake has been given leave to return home," he said.
Drake finally looked up now, surprised and confused. The other officers looked as equally concerned.
"And who...who gave you the right to give us this information?" the head chief asked.
"I did."
Suddenly the form of the officer was gone, hidden underneath the silvery-gray, metallic form of Riot. Riot towered over the men, hunched over as he was too tall to stand up straight in the room.
"Riot...."
Riot turned his head towards Drake and saw the man looking up at him in utter awe. Having never seen Riot outside like this before made Drake feel something. He didn't know that Riot looked like this when they were in full form...
Riot gazed at his human in what seemed like an eternity in which was actually only a few seconds, but still, anything could seem like an hour when one was suddenly in front of the one he loved. He could see the deliberate emotions swarming through Carlton's being. The man could hardly sit still. Riot grinned, saliva dripping past his teeth. Oh, that little....
Instantly, the police whipped out their pistols and fired at the creature. Riot easily dispatched them with a few spikes thrown out of his body, killing them instantly.
Moving towards Drake, he picked him up.Eddie and Venom were not surprised once they saw Riot crash through the building's wall, Drake in his arms.
"Looks like he found him," Eddie said.
Ooo, Eddie, could that be us someday? Venom asked excitedly.
"Wait, what?"
Just imagine...me saving you from the police...taking you out in my full form, Venom grinned.
"No! No, we are not doing that!" Eddie blushed.
Aww, why not?
"Because I don't want to be stuck in there!"
But I'd rescue you.
"That's not the point, let's just get out of here and go home."
Okay. But what about Drake and Riot?
"They're safe, trust me. They'll think of something. Hopefully."
Well, since we're done being heroes for the day, can we go back home now and finish our movie?
"Fine by me."
Then Venom overtook Eddie and bounded off into the night. It happened so fast that Drake didn't have time to really process it fully. All he remembered was the huge figure of Riot in front of him and then feeling that large arm scoop him up and carry him like a baby as he burst out of the station and into the night.
He was dimly aware of being set down and then Riot lunged upwards to rest on top of the building before saying,
"Go home, Carlton. It's not safe for you here."
"What?" Drake was confused and a little shaky. Why hadn't Riot returned to him?
"Trust me, Carlton." Riot spoke calmly and then was gone.
Drake's mind whirled. What the heck had just happened? Why hadn't Riot come back to him? Drake glanced around. The night was quiet except for the occasional cars that passed by.
He turned and headed out the alley and onto the street, heading home. What do you think is going to happen between Riot and Drake? I have a few ideas about what might happen...😏 Comment and I might just use your ideas if not all of them in different ways!😉😉
