heats and ruts can be exhausting. it's draining and demanding and requires lots of energy.
but things can be a little easier and better when you have your loving mate to spend it with.
taehyung and jeongguk feel the same.
and it's a blessing and a curse that their time syncs. both are too exhausted by the end of it to get out of bed, but it's also good cause their energies match.
it's a day after their ruts ended and they're lying in bed, blankets pushed away, pooling around their legs.
the air conditioner's turbo mode being the only sound in the room.
taehyung traces jeongguk's face, nibbling on his bottom lip. no matter how many times he's seen his mate, jeongguk is still the most handsome and gorgeous man to him.
"love you," jeongguk murmurs, throat too sore to say much.
"i love you more, jeonggukie," taehyung replies, pressing a feathery kiss against jeongguk's cheek scar.
jeongguk's rut had hit way worse this time which caused him to drain more energy and take longer to come down from the high.
"past few days have been rough, hm?" taehyung smiles, getting out of bed. he stretched his arms out, easing down his sorr muscles.
jeongguk just hums as a response, watching his omega put on a robe, his grey locks falling over his eyes. he'd never get tired of admiring the beauty he managed to make his.
taehyung shuffles towards their wardrobe, pulling out a towel.
jeongguk's lids were getting heavier and the last thing he felt was a cold, wet towel being placed on his forehead before he dozed off.

his eyes lay on the tray beside his mate with covered pots and two glasses.
"chicken?" he asks, grinning at taehyung.
"your favorite, baby," taehyung smiles, bringing a glass in front of him.
"right after you drink the herbal tea."
taehyung's giggle follows right after jeongguk's pained groan.

turns out bubble baths aren't that much fun when you try to fit two grown, tall men in a filled bathtub.
"babe! why would you fill it completely knowing we both wanted to get in?" jeongguk complains, hands on taehyung's thighs who's sitting right behind him.
"so ungrateful, alpha," taehyung huffs, smiling nonetheless.
he massages jeongguk's hair, going down to his aching shoulder joints, giving them special attention. after all jeongguk had to hold his weight on those when he was pleasing taehyung under him.
"you're so hot," taehyung hums, hands going down to jeongguk's abs. he loved how jeongguk's hard work in the gym had paid off so deliciously.
"says you," jeongguk snorts, his rubbing down taehyung's thighs which were on either sides of jeongguk's torso.
"fell for these long legs the day i met you," jeongguk groans, head resting on taehyung's shoulder.
"all about my legs, huh? nothing about my personality," taehyung rolls his eyes, smiling.
although it was a joke, jeongguk turns around with much difficulty, pulling taehyung closer to him by his waist.
"i fell for you for all of you, my love. and i couldn't be more thankful it's you i get to spend my life with because you're with me for me," he smiles, pressing a chaste kiss against taehyung's lips, his lips lingering there.
"and also cause you give me chicken," jeongguk adds, feeling taehyung's lips erupt into giggled against his own lips.
they spend the rest of the day cuddling and loving each other, just enjoying each others' presence.
no matter what, they'd never trade their lives with anyone else's. they'd always love each other and be there no matter what.
