It was the year 864 in Agreatia. The country was flourishing as more and more people began to accept that intelligent people ruled this country. The land was divided into three classes, High, middle, and lower class. High-class citizens held a lot of power, and middle-class citizens were treated as nobles. Lower-class citizens weren't paid attention to all that much, but they lived long enough to bear children and keep their bloodline going. However, some people that were born in the lower class became part of the middle class if they were smart enough. The only way that would happen is if they pass as average in the IQ test they take when they are five years old.
Asher was born in the Higher class as the youngest son of Norman Stone. Norman had 12 children; 11 of which were born from his wife. Then, there is Asher, who was the son of his father's mistress. Despite that, he resembles his father the most out of his 6 brothers. His small nose, jet black hair, sapphire blue eyes, and a muscular yet thin body make him the spitting image of his father. The privileged son of Norman, Asher Stone. With beauty, smarts, and athleticism, he was the most wanted man of his time. Of course, any woman that his father presented to him weren't his type but they would be good for the family since they were all high class. The boy was merely 10 when he was first presented to someone who the stones considered good for their son. But the boy didn't have an interest in such matters at this age.One day, while he was walking through the Capital of Agreatia, he saw a girl around his age. She was thin and small, her hands seemed so and delicate. Her long silver-blue hair flowed down her back like a waterfall. She was beautiful. When he walked back to his mansion, he was still daydreaming about this girl. His father seemed to notice and asked him why he seemed so cheery.
"What are you happy about?" his father asked.
"O-Oh...It's just that I saw this really pretty girl when I was walking today." Asher replied.
The boy then told his father what he knew about this girl in hopes that he might see her again as one of the presented women suitable for the stones. His father looked into people that fit the description that Asher told him but the only one that fit that description was a girl in the lower class. A girl by the name of Angelia De Lion. Too bad that girl would only live to be about 19, with the only thing letting her live that long is her looks. If she were athletic she could have lived to be 25. Norman decided that he wouldn't tell his son that that girl was in the middle class until he was old enough to understand and move on from such a petty wish. But Asher was intelligent, so he was bound to know sooner or later. He found out about this girl's status and was completely devastated. Had he known this girl was of the lower class, he never would have even cared about her. But deep down he knew that wasn't true
After realizing the truth of the cruel world, He found it unfair. But he couldn't do anything about it, he was merely the son of a mistress. He had no actual power, and his brothers were the ones with power. But even if he could do nothing, he wanted to see her again. He wanted to see Angelia De Lion one last time at least.
Flash forward to when Asher is 19. He was sitting in the meeting room, looking over countless paperwork. He never knew having power would be this hard. As he looked over his shoulder, he saw his older brother Evan.
"Father asks for you to see him in his office."
"No need to be so formal, we're brothers aren't we?"
Asher listened to his brother anyway and went to his father's office. Once he arrived, His father handed him a slip of paper. He recognized the paper, for it was an execution slip. The execution slip was basically a paper that held important information about the person who would be executed. But it wasn't just your average execution slip, it was Angelia's execution slip. The paper contained information as simple as the name of the victim, all the way to their genetic makeup. Asher recognized the woman in the picture and became paralyzed with guilt. He knew the Stone Family was in charge of the executions but he couldn't come to terms with the situation at hand.
"And what if I were to marry her! Would you postpone her death then!" Asher exclaimed.
"Even if you did, postpone does not mean cancel. Keep that in mind son." Norman responded calmly.
"Besides, even if you marry her, she will end up like your mother. Forgotten and not acknowledged as a Stone."Asher became quiet. He didn't know how to counter his father. But what angered him the most was that people treated executions as everyday events and weren't seen as bad. Asher saw through these lies and refused to follow the rules set in place. But this time the law worked in his favor. If he married Angelia, she would live longer. That's the law, if a lower class citizen were to marry a high-class citizen then they need to have a child before their first anniversary and then they can live for a while.
So with his father's permission and the acceptance of the other party, Asher Stone and Angelia De Lion got married. And following the law, they had a child before the 1 year anniversary. A baby girl named Lenna, a girl that resembled her mother. They named her Lenna De Lion Stone because they couldn't decide on the last name. Life seems to be getting better, but the reality is just as cruel as it seems. Half a year passed and life was good, but Norman was upset that his son actually had a child with the wench. So he broke the law slightly and reset the execution date for Angelia De Lion. Asher was notified but this time there was nothing he could do. On the day of the execution, Norman had forced his son to watch as his wife screamed in pain and fear as death approached. After everything was said and done, Asher was left alone, devastated, and full of hatred. He couldn't stand being related to a monster called Norman Stone.
So when the night was silent and his family was sound asleep, he set the mansion on fire, killing everyone inside. That meant that his daughter would have to bear the burden of her father and live with the guilt all her life. Not only that, but the girl will have no mother to comfort her. However, Asher had no regrets.
