Keeping the phone at the nightstand beside my bed, I took a deep breath while hugging my body tighter, this was way more overwhelming. Random thoughts kept roaming around in my mind.
Should I confess too ??? Or should I just wish him a happy birthday ?? Ughhhhhhh this is so annoying.
Throwing my white pillow at the entrance of the room where the door to the room was, I stood up from the bed feeling extremely anxious and frustrated. My mind wasn't in its right state. The gaming set kept in the corner shone in the room's lighting.
Quick backstory; Author's pov
Riki and you've been roommates for the last 2 months, the new semester indeed brought new beginnings for you. Riki was cold yet a fun person, he didn't like oversharing, he was a reserved and mature guy. You admired it when he gave small and subtle replies to long-ass questions or queries, he indeed was a calm person but recently you discovered his teenage self, it was the day his family's letter came, he was overjoyed and started dancing around the dorm, he looked ethereal smiling like that. His boxy smile and his giggle matched perfectly with him. His every feature was cherry on top to his personality, each trait had its own uniqueness which you found attractive.

" Miss yn you will have to ace acting skills for today, no laughing, no nothing just don't mess up things " shutting my eyes tightly, I clapped and joined my hands in front of my face while standing at a distance from my bed and mirror, I looked completely stupid like this.
I never felt this stupid in my life but Riki~
if I won't do this for him then for whom would I do it ??
Determining myself with the plan I plopped myself on the soft mattress and covered my body with a heavy duvet. The warm duvet embraced my cold body and started cosying it up. I was tired, I might sleep anytime and the time was already around 11:30 pm. I know I was late for asking for some birthday surprise trick but still, it was quite unexpected for me to step out of my bubble and ask someone for some advice. I ain't that brave person besides that Riki can be a moody guy too.
Being tired had its disadvantages and soon I started falling asleep. I was going to sleep into a deep slumber when suddenly the door creaked open, revealing a tall man dressed in casual clothes advancing towards me. It was peeping carefully to not dump the surprise.
" She's asleep but why are the lights of the room switched on " the guy sighed and picked up the duvet from the right corner, he slid himself in and gently tugged his body beside me, he snaked his left around my waist and switched off the nightstand lamp from the other hand. He snuggled himself closer to my figure. My heartbeat started pacing. I didn't know he was this ' comfortable ' around me.
It was around 10 minutes and he didn't move even a bit, checking the time from the alarm clock kept at the nightstand beside my phone I gently moved my head upwards to glance at the clock. It was almost 12, him being this close to my figure was extremely dangerous for my heart, I bet my cheeks are hot and red by now, my face must be looking flushed. Thank God !! the light was still switched off and my face was not apparent. I don't wanna embarrass myself in front of him.
"uh....Ri..ki ??? " my stuttering showed how nervous I was, slowly jerking his body. He finally became conscious, his eyes shot open and he quickly sat upright on the bed, he gulped slowly yet his calm features didn't flinch or shift for a bit.
" Umm I'm sorry- " his hands moved up to the back of his neck and started massaging it gently, his head hung low but I could care less and cut him off,
" HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!! " I jumped onto his figure and hugged his shoulders, the position was quite awkward but not as much as the situation was before. My hands gently started patting his back, his muscles slowly melted into my touch.
" And this is for you " I quickly switched on the lights, carrying a beautiful smile that extended from one ear to another. I hopped onto the floor and gestured towards the gaming set kept in the corner of the room beside the university supplies and books.
His eyes gleamed up, standing up from his position, stumbling as he reached for the box and gently held it in his hands. Looking at me, he engulfed me in a tight hug.
" I don't think I can keep it inside any longer…….but I like you yn, I like you a lot " I could hear his heart pacing, his hard chest touching my head, his body felt warm against mine, his head rested in the gape of my neck as he kept inhaling sharply. Maybe waiting for my answer, a tint of red shade covered my cheeks, my breathing quickened.
