Koneko was merely an 8 when he was taken from his home the only information he received was from a beautiful young woman with glasses and a lab coat she had fair skin and a head of green messy hair and all she said was "your mama ain't coming back, come with me will ya?" he was escorted to the orphanage in a strange machine with wheels and no animals pulling it the curious boy asked the beautiful lady "is this thing your blessing" she laughed annoying Koneko. She settled down "Nope" Before the boy could say anything his thoughts were interrupted by a growl from the his stomach the lady looked over and smiled "don't worry boy I ain't gonna hurt you" she sticks her hand out a twig seems to grow out of her hand the twig grows about two inches out of her palm then an apple she hands to Koneko and whispers in his ear "my name is Appa I ain't supposed to feed ya until we get there"
"where" the boy asks
"To your new home boy"
Koneko didn't wanna new home he was fine spending his free time looking for scraps and water. The thoughts going through his head overwhelm him and he dazes off.
"Wake up sleepyhead" is the first thing Koneko heard at his new home. He woke up under a roof he had never seen in a room which he had never seen on a bed had never seen. To his right was a face he had seen before Appa she was looking at him with an emotion he hadn't felt in months to his right where what he could only describe as tree people wearing uniforms the amount of questions building up where uncountable. Appa told him to get up and walk with her she started explaining
"this fancy place is an orphanage, other kids with no ma or pa are here too" "but I do have a mama!" exclaimed Koneko. Appa stopped bent down and hugged him tight, no words where said but he knew exactly what the hug meant. walking down hallway after hallway Koneko trying his hardest to hold his tears back then they stopped the white hallways turned brown and he was brought to a door with the number four written on it she bent down again rubbed his dirty hair offered a smile and said
"this room is yours now you'll have to share though."
"where are you going?" asked Koneko
"I gotta do my job kid, ill see you tomorrow" she responded she began to walk away Koneko "my name is Koneko" Appa kept walking but waved her hand.
He opened the door the room seemed plenty big for two kids looking around it he noticed many things hes never seen smaller versions of that vehicle he saw earlier a box playing moving pictures and many other things. There was a boy with straight hair that had tints of gray sitting on the floor playing with one of the little machines. He looked up and noticed Koneko he looked up and asked "you don't have a mom or dad either?" Koneko sighed and said "my mama is gonna pick me up I know she is"
they both stare at each other studying each others features the boys face was chubby he had a grew sweatshirt on the sleeves seemed to have ash the boy noticed Koneko looking at his sleeves and commented "my blessing is pretty useless its just a little bit of smoke it leaves ash its annoying" Koneko seemed a little happy and responded "mine is too my hands just become sludge it also leaves a mess" the two smile
"whats your name?" asked Koneko.
"dim, whats yours" he replied
"Koneko"
the boys sat down and talked learning each others favorite colors and foods Koneko had no idea this room was the only place he would be allowed to feel such joy.
