"I said look for her she cant just disappear just like that!" snr yelled , he took for the stairs and ran into every room he laid eyes on. The building was big enough to play hide and seek but snr was not in the mood for games "You imbeciles! How could you lose her!" Snr yelled to the security guards that were meant to keep an eye Aurora, she had come into the building ready to pitch her idea on trousseaux when the security guards reported back to Snr that Aurora was no where to be seen. Snr was ready to involve all his allies to attack the Hardens when Aurora ran in through the doors "Sorry I'm late, I left my board by the house and I asked the driver to accompany me back to get it."
Snr was not having it, one look to his face and his young sibling knew she had poked the beast. The staff members and executive board members left the room obviously giving the boss and his sister some time to themselves. "Where have you been Ro?" she nervously let out a chuckle but stopped herself from angering her brother even further "I left my designs at the house and I asked the driver to take me back brother...were you worried about me?"
Kane snr banged his fists on the table and let out a low growl "Without informing security Ro! Without informing me. That was irresponsible of you damnit we had an unaimity!" The angry man spat as his fists banged on the table repeatedly, he was not angry with her. He was angry with Tomikay the jealous little skinny man he has known for 16 years. He knew if he wanted to keep his family safe he had to take extra precautions. "I am sorry Kane but there was no need of you shouting at me like little kid especially infront of the staff, yes that was irresponsible but I will not be treated like a child in this establishment...outside of the house your nothing more but my employer and not my brother."
Ro angrily stated, she did not understand why she had to constantly report to everyone in her life about the things she does, she also had to constantly duck and hide because of the feud between the Waytes and Hardens. Thoughts of being an orphan didn't seem bad on certains days to her.
"Ro , you work for me...not the other way around...you report to me when you're out the house, you report to me at work...and you report to me who you talk to...I'm not about to be playing that game with you. So yes...you're inferior to me in this establishment and that means I have the power to not give you this job."
"Do that and I tell daddy."
"Go ahead...he knows I only do what's best for my family."
Tension settling between the siblings, a staff member walked in oblivious to his mistake. "Who the hell told you to come back!"
"Sir...It's time for your 12:30 meeting with the Gaines company."
"Go on ahead big brother don't want to keep the Gaines waiting."
Kane looked back at his hard headed sister and clicked his tongue, he hated that she was a female cause everytime she became emotional he refrained from talking to her. It was times like this he wish he had a brother cause men were more likely to think logically than women as they thought with their emotions.
"The hell you staring at me for Kane, go on ahead...I've got a interview to get to." Aurora sassily spoke, flicking her hair over her shoulders. If only she knew that her brother was bitter that he could not control how she did things and how she said things, although she was aware of her older brothers problems, she was a female bottom line and her brother would just have to be strong.
"Mr Wayte?" His personal assistant Mr Walker called stressing the time that his employer was wasting. "Fine Aurora Wayte, I will pass by the house later today and I'm going to talk to you."
"Au revoir." She said turning around and walking towards the seat that awaited her , she took out all her work supplies and set them appropriately , after being satisfied with how she set her props she sat down and cleared her throat occupying her arms on her lap. Now it was her turn to wait on the board members to pitch her designs.
Kane walked out of the boardroom beyond enraged, he couldn't face his allies in that condition , but there was no other way, as highly respected were the Gaines...they were also not one family to be messed with. Kane knew better.
With his shoulders broad and sharp, Kane walked with determination in each step, whoever walked in his way knew better than to talk to him when he had to attend a meeting and as much as Kane was feared...everyone knew there would be someone else to intimidate him.
Walking into the boardroom , Kane cringed at the sight of a woman sitting on he's chair, he almost blew a fuse when the woman faced him and smirked. "Ah, Kane...nice to see you once more." Candy Gaines the predecessor of Marshall Gaines spoke garnering a glare from the impatient man, He had heard before that Marshall relinquished his position down to his daughter but he thought nothing of it as a myth.
"Cat got your tongue Kane darling?" Candy continuously smirked standing up from the seat, She looked to her supervisors and let out a laugh. "Marissa, please ask Mr Wayte what would be the problem?"
"Mr Wayte, Miss Gaines would like to -"
"-I am not deaf, you vile beast."
"Now,now Kane...respect my employee."
"Where is your father little girl, this business needs men."
"Unless your not fully aware but the word 'woman' has 'man' in it, you can say I am the man fit for this job."
"Delusional is what I call you."
As arrogant as the man was , he did not wish to anger Candy, as her family had more power than his. It angered Kane that a woman held more power than him, In that moment he felt very vulnerable and wished he could kill her.
"Sit down Kane and halt on your delinquent behaviour, I heard through the grapevine that Tomikay is looking for the Alaskin deal, I refuse for him to reach them because they have top merchandise...their weapons, drugs and materials come high in demand and if -"
She stopped to walk towards Albert Walker and stroked his head. "-Everything you own...love...will be destroyed. Try me."
She walked away and sat back down on his chair, "I heard your sister is getting a job here too...Keep her away from the darkside of the fashion industry , We wouldn't want a fashion killer on our hands."
"Candy you monstrous disaster -"
"-Tuh, If I were you , I'd hold my tongue, your ego would be bruised with what I could do."
"Please...women of your height and size make me laugh, I rather you take your puny ego and walk out of my building with the little pride you have left."
"Of course my gender would intimidate you, I'm stronger than you think."
"I doubt."
"You make me laugh... I like that."
"I'm petrified."
"Kane before I take off, March Apparels from Canada are going to be trading with us, Once I get the merchandise, half of it will be sent to you, all those products should be distributed equally to your other branches. I'm coming for an update in two months...don't disappoint me."
"Leave my office you beast."
"Toodles."
Kane snarled and banged his fists on the table repeatedly, He had no idea how he would approach the Alaskins again after Jnr cancelled on them. He would have to get creative.
