I had been strangely consumed in the fiction world of "zombies" since I can remember. Something about the dead being living, if that makes any sense. I was watching my daily dose of cliche zombies movies that I had seen multiple times when my phone goes off. The screen flashes... "*Y/N* HEY OMG" Shelby. What does she want. I chuckle to myself quietly. I unlock my phone and text her back.
She all caps me and says "LOOK AT THE NEWS THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE ITS YOUR DREAM!!! #Ebolaisascrub"
"OMG" I scream, "This is real?" I then realized after I shouldn't of taken this so lightly. I quickly turn on the news and hear words I never thought I would hear. I tremble in horror as the news retold the story of my life.
"In the center of Georgia there is some sort of "zombie" outbreak. Civilians are roaming the streets ripping people to shreds" I run into the living room and see my parents packing supplies. "This is real" I grab my camping bag, my journal, my knife, and my long loved shovel. When I was in 4th grade all I would do is dig. Well now as a 14 year old, I don't really dig for fun. But now... I don't have to have reason for anything. I'm free. But little did I think that the apocalypse would leave me broken and attempting to survive. I started at a sprint towards Shelby and Josie's houses, with my parents at a slow run after me. Everything is going to shit real fast.
