Lorelei

I was restless as my alarm screamed at me, I had decided that last night I would begin to rewatch Peaky Blinders, and then I didn't end up sleeping until 5 in the morning, but it was worth it.

I was a little excited about classes today, but I think that it's just because it's a new place. I look towards my door as Reese walks in, "We're leaving in a bit, and after classes, we're decorating the apartment, and our rooms for fall, a couple of friends are coming over to help." I nod my head, grab my phone off of my nightstand, and unplug the charger before scrolling for a bit.

"Where are we going?" Just as I ask Chanel pops her head in through the door, somehow she always manages to look utterly breathtaking in the morning, not doing anything.

"Hey, I'm not making breakfast today so we're all just going to eat at the coffee place" I stretch before getting out of bed, hugging myself before rubbing my eyes.

"Alright, are we meeting Mateo there or is he coming here first?" Chanel looks over her shoulder before looking back at me, raising her eyebrow questioningly. I only asked because I assumed he would be coming with us.

"He's already here, everyone's ready to leave-" I shake my head taken back, "Why didn't you guys wake me up?" She smiles at me, but it mostly seems like she's smiling to herself.

"Well, I heard you watching TV late at night when I went to go get a glass of water, so I thought it would be nice if you got to sleep in for a bit." Chanel smiles sheepishly, I grin before hugging her. "Thank you." I waltz away into the bathroom to freshen up.

I take a quick shower, making sure the mark on my face isn't too bad before getting in. I quickly change my clothes once I get out and blow dry my hair before grabbing my makeup out from the little compartment organizer I have.

I scroll on my phone before clicking on my playlist and pressing shuffle, I begin to brush my teeth and do skin care, softly singing along to the music.

"You like this song?" I jump as I turn around, staring back at me was Mateo. His large frame leaned against the opened door. I roll my eyes, ignoring him before turning back around to put makeup on.

"What even is this stuff?" He walks into the bathroom grabbing my concealer. I glare at him before snatching the product and dropping it onto the countertop.

"C'mon you can't be mad at me forever, I didn't even-" I sigh heavily turning towards him.

"First, you have the audacity the come into my apartment and act all nice, but the second I do it back you suddenly act like I'm some intruder, secondly, you help me when I'm about to die, and then you chew me out for it like it was my fault!?" I wave my arms around while I speak, emphasizing the effect of my words.

"Lorelei, you can't get mad at me for not opening up to you immediately. We met yesterday, and of course, I saved you, who wouldn't? But that doesn't mean you weren't acting stupid." His voice is low as he speaks to me, much different than how I was speaking to him.

"I wasn't asking you to open up to me Mateo. I was asking a simple question about how you and my roommates met and suddenly you got all cold! You could've just said 'It's not something I want to talk about' but no, you went on and said how we would never be friends, but now that I realize it, maybe it's better that way." I scoff before looking back into the mirror, deciding to ignore him.
