The whole place was in utter chaos, the whole situation was an utter mess. And Chunhua Zhang, the current Jack of Diamonds, has no idea what to make of it.
"And that's the last of them." Rembrandt, the Ace, said with a sigh mixed with both relief and exasperation. The moment the King and the mysterious girl left the room, the different people of nobility started pestering the remaining monarchs about what had just happened. Themselves not knowing the situation too, it was only a matter of time before the Queen lost his temper and ordered the Ace to escort everyone out of the room.
She nodded and smiled gratefully at him.
"Now that that's settled," Nikolai Trent, the current Queen of Diamonds, spoke, irritation underlining his voice "We should probably find his Majesty and hopefully shed some light unto this current mess." Then on an even lower voice. "Fuck Kings and their penchant for mysteries."
She couldn't help but rest a hand on the other's shoulder in comfort. Out of all of them, she found that she pities the Queen the most. He was a soldier once, and the mark was found on his leg a day after the previous Queen was assassinated. Despite coming from a middle class family, he had joined the army at a young age, preventing him from being taught about politics like the others and therefore he has no idea whatsoever on how to fulfill the Queen's duties. Nikolai literally fought tooth and nail against his fellow comrades when they brought him to the castle. He never wanted to be Queen, that fact was quite obvious, too bad really the mark won't allow his wish to be fulfilled, and like the rest of them he is stuck at the castle.
From the corner of her eyes, she could see Rembrandt's eyes narrow dangerously at her hand on the Queen's shoulder but choose to ignore that.
"We should probably try the study first. If what the King said earlier was right then there's a possibility the King would take the woman there." She suggested. Nikolai nodded and stood, walking across the throne room and towards the doors, golden coat billowing behind him. Both Ace and Jack wasted no time and followed the Queen's lead.

The first thing Evelyn noticed when the remaining three Monarchs finally arrived at the study was that the rumors were indeed true: Jack Chunhua Zheng was indefinitely and utterly beautiful. With her milky pale white skin that looked soft to the touch, equally soft and silky looking long black locks currently tied to a high pony tail and mesmerizing golden almond shaped eyes it completely compliments her petite form; although it's such a shame she's so short, just barely reaching over her nose. She almost thought she had fallen for the other at first sight.
Almost. Because she most definitely is straight and it took her a few seconds to recognize that the strong pull she feels towards the Jack is just the King's mark reacting at the Jack's mark.
Thank God George already told her about that, about the strong connection between the Jack and King. It's necessary, he said, considering the Jack and the King have to be together most of the time — they needed to get along. It's also because of that the Jack and the King usually fall for each other.
A shiver ran up her spine.
God, please don't make her fall for her Jack. She likes dicks, not boobs.
The second thing she noticed was that all three of them had their eyes wide open in surprise, and mouth in Rembrandt's case, at George and her. It was only at that moment she remembered the position she and the previous King were at — she on top of him and their faces inches from each others.
Not that it was intentional — oh no, not at all. She just happened to trip on the carpet and the previous King tried to catch her — keyword: tried. He immediately complained about aching backs which made him loose his footing and they fell on the floor. And that's when the three Monarchs decided to enter the room.
