"What's your biggest fear?" Brittney turned around from her camera to look at me.
I shrugged, "I don't know. I guess losing everyone that's close to me." Her brown eyes looked at me, urging me to say more. I just directed my attention back to my camera.
She sighed, "Come over here and model for me, Jaz."
I rolled my eyes and obeyed her orders. I could ask her why she wanted me to, but I knew the answer. Brittney thought I was the perfect model.
"Your hair is just so long and the perfect shade of red. Plus your eyes are such a deep blue. You're so short that it's cute. And you're NOT fat."
Brittney would always emphasize the last sentence. She was the only one who knew of my eating problem.
I smiled at my best friend, and immediately flipped my hair. I heard the shutter close and knew by her giggle that it was the perfect shot.
The wind started to blow, and I centered myself between two trees. My hair blew around my face and I placed my hand on my cheek. Snap. Snap. Snap. Brittney always made sure to get the perfect shot. I am so grateful to have such a talented best friend. I looked at her. Her caramel colored hair and light green eyes made her any guy's dream.
"She should be the one modeling," I thought to myself. I decided to let her take about an hour's worth of pictures of me, and then I would take pictures of her.
The time flew by, and soon I was telling her of my plan. She hesitantly agreed. I knew she didn't like modeling, but she would have to suck it up.
"Let's look around for an abandoned house." I suggested. Brittney agreed and we started off deeper into the woods.
As we walked, we discussed our plans for the summer. She told me that she wanted to travel somewhere.
"You can come! And we'll bring Charles and Nick!"
Her smile grew as she mentioned the two guy's names.
Charles was my boyfriend. Well, sort of. We've had a thing for over a year, but it's never been official. I sighed happily at the thought of him. He had dark brown hair and glowing brown eyes. Charles hated his eyes, but I loved them. He was tall and skinny, but muscular.
Nick was Brittney's crush. Nick had blonde hair and hazel eyes. He was captain of the football team and all the girls loved him. Brittney and him are close friends, and I know they'll end up dating.
I zoned out, imagining all of us vacationing to Southern California. I could hear Brittney talking about it, and I could tell that she shared my fantasy.
We finally reached an abandoned school house.
"That's odd," Brittney mumbled, "I've walked through all of these woods and I've never seen this before."
I looked at her and shrugged, "Well, no reason to complain!"
She laughed and we headed to the school house.
