Once I was  showered and in bed safely under my covers I started thinking again, is this it for me, am I destined to live in the shadows of poverty? Do I have to struggle for the rest of my life because I went crazy in college and decided I had to leave the place where I lost mind. I couldn't take it anymore I started to write it all down, everything  I was feeling, getting it off my chest everything I had been holding on to for the last five years. Just when I went to cap my pen I got a phone call. It was Jade my twin sister, younger than me by sixteen minutes. I stopped talking to her after the last time I tried moving back home and she kicked me out after beating me up. Ring ring ring, the phone snaps me out of my daze. I answer on the third ring.
Onyx: hello
Jade: hey
Onyx: what do you want? Pause.
Onyx: helloooo, Jade what do you want?
Jade: hey did you ever do magic in college.
I rolled my eyes so hard I thought they would pop out of their sockets. Onyx: look I don't have time for this what do you want?
Jade: No seriously Onyx cause when you came back from college everything went bad and who knows what you were doing up there, and you never told us the full story...
I cut her off not wanting to bear another second of her descrusive panter, plus I knew she just called to suck whatever joy that was lingering in my body away from me. To appease my demon I replied in a drawl,
Onyx: define magic. I could hear her suck her teeth on the other line. Jade: magic like spells and stuff, you know what I'm talking about, that's your problem your always lying and everybody can call me and get what they want from me but as soon as I call them and need something everybody wants to play dumb.
I rolled my eyes again, I couldn't hear this shit right now, I was finally able to get something of of my chest and here she comes talking shit again. Onyx: Jade I'll call you back later I'm doing something right now okay? I didn't wait for a reply but before the phone cut of I felt a spark run through my chest, I looked down at my chest that was bare, I was expecting to see the headphones that shocked me but only saw my new onyx necklace. Weird, but it's always weird energy with Jade I shook it out of my mind and capped my pen, looking down at the ink scrolled over the page, I closed the book deciding not to read it back yet. I jump off the bed walking to the last door on the right wall to the resident bathroom. With that bullshit I need to go wash Jade  out of my mind. By the time I finish my shower, it's lights out, I watch tiktoks for an hour then fall into deep sleep.
