Modern AU where Scaramouche, Fischl, and Mona were neighbors and would play imagination games together as kids. This is not my idea, it's actually my friends( @Shiggyscrustyelbows ) that she let me write a one-shot about, so thank you Anna.
It was Tuesday, which meant it was time for Ei to attend the book club she and her wife are in. She called her son downstairs and after a few minutes his door opened and a small child with a big hat stumbled down the stairs, a smile was on his face.
"Are you ready to go dear?" Ei said, as she grabbed her glasses and opened the door. Scaramouche nodded excitedly and ran outside.
"Now where do you think you are going young man?" His other mom, Yae Miko picked him up with ease and walked up to her while kissing her cheek.
"EwW!" Scaramouche yelled trying to get out of Miko's arms, but she only tightened her grip on him.
"You're not going anywhere my dear." She said smiling at her sons childish antics. Ei just shook her head at the two a small smile on her lips. The three were about to walk off to their neighbors house, but Scaramouche started thrashing around.
"Let me walk on my own!" He yelled, "I'm a big boy now!" That surprised both the parents, as he never cared about being treated his age. That's when Yae had a thought.
"Oh? Would this sudden change possibly be because Mona is going to be there today?" She asked.
"WhAt!? NO! GIRLS ARE GROSS!"
"Well I might have to disagree. Besides, aren't your only two friends girls?" Ei asked, looking down at her son how was walking between the older two woman with crossed arms and an annoyed expression. She laughed, "Well whatever the case, let's hope this new 'big boy' attitude won't interfere on your time with Fischl and Mona." They walked across the street and knocked on the door. Not long after the door was opened by Jean's oldest son, Albedo who was currently in his second to last year of high school.
"Please come in." He said, allowing the family to walk inside the house. Once they were inside, he led them to backyard where everyone else was. "I'll take Klee inside." He said as Jean handed him his two year old sister.
"SCARAMOUCHIE!" Fischl ran up to him and engulfed Scaramouche in a hug, which he accepted. "Come on!" Fischl dragged him to the sand box her and Mona were playing in.
"Scaramouche!" Mona got up and gave him a hug before sitting back down in the sandbox. The three of them spent around and hour building and writing things in the sandbox.
"I'm bored." Mona said, laying down and getting sand all over her hair.
"Let's play that one game we were playing yesterday!" They two girls explained the game to Scaramouche. Fischl was the queen and Mona was the princess who had fallen in love with someone she wasn't supposed to.
"That's stupid," He said crossing his arms and turning his head away from the two girls who were begging him to play it with them, "I'm too grown up for these stupid games." He then walked away leaving the two girls to play by themselves. He went over to his parents who were talking to Fischl's parents, Lisa and Jean, about a new book the had read or something like that. He went over to Albedo's dog, Vodka. It was named by his boyfriend who bought him the dog. Sadly, the dog refused to listen to any other name.
When Vodka saw Scaramouche he immediately ran over and rolled onto it back wanting belly scratches. Scaramouche did just that, but fifteen minutes after petting the dog he was extremely bored, so he went back to Mona and Fischl who were playing their game.
"Oh Scaramouche are you finally going to play with us?" Mona asked excitedly.
"Yes, but," The two girls got really excited and happy until they heard the but part, " It's only because there's nothing else to do." The girls knew this was a lie, but pretended to not know for the fun of it.
"And I have to be a strong tall dude."
"Okay then you can be the knight that Mona falls in love with!" Fischl said excitedly. The other two agreed and for the remainder of Scaramouche's time there they played their little imagination game. Little did they know, the adults recorded almost all of it.
