Alder Bark:
Description: Dark gray bark, fissured. Younger trees may have greenish bark. Branches are sometimes sticky.

Location: Along rivers and swampy areas on Alder Trees.

Use: Chewed.

Effect: Eases toothaches.



Birch Sap:
Description: A thick, sticky liquid commonly found in or on birch trees.

Location: On any birch trees.

Use: Swallowed.

Effect: Soothes sore throats.



Borage/Borage Leaves:
Description: Has small blue or pink star-shaped petals and hairy leaves. Can be distinguished by smell easily.

Location: Around lakes and ridges. Can also be found in some forests.

Use: Best leaves are halfway up the stem. They are chewed and eaten.

Effect: It produces better milk and more of it for queens. It can also bring down fevers, soothe bad belly aches, or relieve tight chests.



Burnet:
Description: Medium green-colored basal leaves. Occasionally may have spikes of purple flowers.

Location: Sunny areas.

Use: The leaves are swallowed. They are usually used for traveling.

Effect: Used to give strength. Great for expecting queens.



Catchweed/Catchweed Burrs:
Description: A plant with fuzzy, green balls on long stems.

Location: Common in hedges and other low, shrubby vegetation.

Use: The hurts are put on the pelt where poultices are.

Effect: Stops poultices from being rubbed off without hurting the skin.



Chamomile:
Description: A small, white flower with a large, yellow center.

Location: Twoleg gardens. Can also be found in sandy-like soil in cooler areas.

Use: Eaten.

Effect: Strengthens the heart and soothes the mind. Also given to traveling cats for strength.



Coltsfoot:
Description: A flowering plant with yellow or white flowers resembling dandelions.

Location: Usually found in open, disturbed areas such as in ditches and near thunderpaths. Can also be found on forest edges and on steep slopes.

Use: Leaves are chewed into a pulp.

Effect: Eases breathing or kitten-cough. Can soothe cracked or sore pads when applied.



Daisy Leaves:
Description: Thick, dark green, oval shaped leaves that grow on daisies. Daisies are described as a white flower with a yellow center.

Location: Grasslands, meadows, near thunderpaths, or in twoleg gardens.

Use: Chewed into a paste.
