This is a story for every person who wants to feel brave. Every person who has been in a situation where you don’t have a ready answer, but you arrive home one hour later FILLED with snarky responses to offer them. For every moment in which you want to be independent and strong, know there are equal amounts of moments where it’s ok to lean on someone. To steal some of their strength. Prologue

I close my eyes and take a deep breath.

This is it. 

The moment I've been waiting for. 

Months of preparation lead to this.

I could see the finish line.

I could taste the victory on the tip of my tongue.

Tonight is the final step in my plan.

After this they won’t be able to just ignore me anymore!

Like I’m just a little girl with no knowledge of the world we live in.

I go over the plan in my mind one last time before looking at the photo that’s attached to the car’s dashboard.

Resting my fingertips on it, I can feel the heartbreak anew.

I welcome the anger that comes with it and let it wrap around my heart.

It fuels my body and I know I’m ready.

I open the car door and softly close it behind me.

As I am dressed in all black, it’s easy to get lost in the shadows and that’s what I do.

They aren’t prepared.

They don’t know what to expect.

They will feel my revenge as it rains down on them publicly.

Chapter 1

Lincoln

It’s 1AM and fucking cold.

Yet, I am in my truck and driving around the Pharm4You research facility before getting out and doing a patrol on foot.

Last week the director of the pharmacy company contacted Assist for backup. The last couple of months, their night shift security noticed ‘suspicious activity’ around the company grounds. Afraid of B&E and not able to secure the threat, they reached out to us. Keanu put me on the job and I’ve been going through the company feed with the help of Sam, our resident IT guy.

Sam started going over the security cameras immediately but found nothing. That could mean there simply is no threat, or the threat knows where the cameras are. If the second is true, then the people hanging around at night could be scouts.
