On Thanksgiving Day, teens were watching Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on tv.
"Don't you just love parades." said Julia.
"Yeah." everyone agreed.
Malik and Middy were fighting over a bottle of glue.
"Stop it you two this is thanksgiving i don't see you two fighting."
"He took my glue!"
"It's not yours Middy it's everyone's glue."
"Boys I'm serious! thanksgiving it's about giving thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year not fighting."
"Here take this glue." Malik said.
"I don't want your stupid glue." Middy said.
Malik took the glue upstairs and started making a centerpiece for Thanksgiving which honors women such as Georgia O'Keeffe, Susan B. Anthony, and Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
"These balloons at the parade are way past cool." said Sonic.
"If you build a balloon for every cartoon character... you'll turn the parade into a farce."
Then Sonic's balloon appeared on tv.
Which made everyone excited.
Vanilla was in the kitchen making thanksgiving dinner her husband Almond was helping her.
Family and friends arrive and assemble at the table.
Benny was having trouble lighting the fire at the fireplace.
"That's no way to light a fire!" Thumper said.
"This will roar any time now." Benny said.
"A caveman could start it." said Jerry.
Benny frowned.
"Dinner! Dinnertime, everybody!" Vanilla called.
Benny give up trying to get the fire going.
"The heck with this."
The kids arrived at the table with their families.
The food was the table.
Malik arrived at with the centerpiece for Thanksgiving.
Everyone liked his centerpiece.
"Wow it looks nice." said Alan.
"How long did it take you to make it?" Belle asked.
"It took me hours to make it."
Middy brings in the turkey, and he complains that the centerpiece is "taking up real value estate" for the turkey. (meaning that the centerpiece was taking up space.) Middy and Malik descend into chaos, causing the centerpiece to get thrown into the fireplace and quickly burn to a cinder.
Malik attacked him in rage.
"Middy! you don't even care! you don't even care!"
The boys are then separated by Vanilla and Delilah. Malik runs upstairs to his room in tears and an angry Almond and Vanilla send Middy to his room without Thanksgiving dinner and strictly tell him that he ruined Thanksgiving he was grounded indeed.
Middy sat down on his bed and pout.
"I didn't ruin Thanksgiving, he did. I always get blamed."
At the table adults teens kids and babies started to pray.
Kelvin Waters begin to speak.
"Lord God, Our hearts are crowded with gratitude as we celebrate the feast of Thanksgiving. We have come to this our feasting table with great joy and eagerness, for we are truly grateful to you, our God, for all that we have been given. We pause now and, in silent prayer, do thank you for the great generosity of Your gifts. We also thank one another for gifts -especially for the gifts of love and affection that we have freely shared. We are thankful for all who are present at this our feast as well as for all those who have labored in love in order to bring this dinner to our table. May You, our God, bless this Thanksgiving feast and all of us who shall share it in your holy name."
"Amen."
"Amen." everyone said.
Everyone started to eat their dinner.
After Vanilla consoles Malik, she sternly tells Middy that if he can give Malik a genuine apology in front of everyone and mean it, he can come downstairs to dinner. Malik refuses, stubbornly insisting that he didn't do anything wrong, and Malik is to blame. Scoffing at the directive and thinking that he doesn't have to take his punishment, he decides to teach everyone a lesson by running away from home.
There Soar, is doing a report on the dinner, where he delivers a self-serving commentary on how the patrons are forgotten on Thanksgiving. Later, Soar interviews Middy, where he mocks everyone and refuses to offer an apology. Everybody sees the report on TV, and Almond immediately calls the police. When the police failed to locate him, Almond and Vanilla regret saying severe things that drove him away.
As Middy exits the shelter, one of the bums asks Middy if he's got a home. Middy says yes and seeing how the bums need the money more than he does, offers the money he got from his blood donation to the bums. Remorseful, Middy realizes how he has more than the bums with whom he shared Thanksgiving and so chooses to return home.
Middy assumes that he shouldn't have came back and goes into the treehouse in the backyard.
Sonic and friends wanted to cheer up Malik.
They put on a play about the first thanksgiving.
It did made him feel better.
Malik went outside and found Middy in the treehouse.
There, the two discuss what happened, and Middy still refuses to apologize in the belief that he has done nothing wrong. Malik tells him to look deeper. Middy comes to realize that he hurt his feelings by destroying something that he considered dear. Middy finally apologizes and Malik happily accepts and give him a hug.
Then Almond leads his family and friends in prayer blessing the meal for Middy's reunion, as they enjoy a late night Thanksgiving feast of turkey sandwiches and displaying the thankful spirit that was absent from the earlier debacle.
