It all started one spring semester, Ami noticed something odd about her classmate, William. She always had a crush on him. She loved the way his hair tousled with the wind, his black beautiful hair, but she noticed a shade of red as the sun glistened on his head.

'Red? Must be a thing for royals I guess nowadays.' Ami thought to herself. She knew William was the son of Zeph from PireVam industries, world renowned company for manufacturing A.I. chip technology. To Ami, William was a "royal". Although, her gaze switched to when she heard a group of guys laughing not so far off, high fiving their favorite player, football star - Von. Unlike Williams' refined look, Von had more of a rugged stature.

As the two men stepped into the corridors of education, all female eyes followed them and they all drooled in hopes of one day having the status of "girlfriend". Popularity aside, both men hate each other with a passion and always try to outdo each other, both were A students, and were good at their respective high school sports.

"Ami, quit zoning out will you!" Christov waves his hand in front of Ami's face. She snaps out of her deep thought.

"Christov...when did William have red highlights on?" She asked.

"Who? William? I only see black hair, dark, black hair of evil." He winced.

"Stop! what do you mean? There's clearly red on his hair." Ami points towards William. Christov takes a closer look. After a blink, William was right in front of him. Surprised, Christov tripped and fell back.

"May I help you, Christov?" William asked, offering his hand.

"Oh, no, not at all, I'm alright. Just lost my balance that's all." Christov refocused himself and grabbed his bag next to him, getting himself up from the ground. Unlike William, Christov has a heavier body set and some wheezing.

"Well, I'm glad you're okay. I have Calculus to attend to." William turns to look at Ami, who at this point can't stop herself from blushing. Behold, there she stands in the midst of the great and handsome William Priceton.  William looks at her with slight contempt for she saw something no one else quite can see...but Ami was in la-la land, maybe drooling too. William walked passed her acting like she wasn't there.

Christov stood infront of Ami, waving his hands over her eyes.

"Ami! Snap out of it! Your knight in..." Christov paused and turned back to make sure William wasn't there, "...annoyingly evil unshining armor", as he spoke, brought out his inhaler and took a puff.

Ami breathed out a sigh, "I don't understand why you hate him so much Christov!"

"I smell trouble with that kid!" Christov said, shaking his head.

"But you have asthma?" Ami looked bewildered.

"He just has this air of pride about him that's very annoying." Christov grimaced. He started walking away, "Anyways, stay away from him, Ami, he is a spoiled brat! I gotta go to class now, see ya later!"

Ami shrugged her shoulders and headed to her class.

Night came. William was eating dinner with his father, Zeph.

"Father, she saw through the trance." William looked confused.

Zeph slowly sliced through the poultry dish he was eating, took a bite, paused a bit, looked at his son, "That is quite odd. Is she not one of us, maybe?"

William shook his head, "I've looked through our bloodline records, her family and ancestors don't show up."

Zeph wiped his mouth, "Even the werewolves can't see through the trance, she must be something else. Tell Morty to search her out."

William called Morty to the room, entering through the big doors into the dining area, a tall skinny man with a flat affect on his face entered.

"Your majesty, do you need my services? Ah, I see, another anomaly. I shall see to it, then." He transforms into a dark raven and flies out the window.

William started laughing. Zeph stopped chewing his food, looked at his son, waiting for an explanation. "What's so funny, Will?"

"Nothing, father, it's just every time Morty comes, he goes through the door and then flies out the window, I just don't understand. He could go out the door, it's just a waste of magic."

"Don't give him a hard time, Will. Morty takes his entrances and exits with much passion." Zeph melancholically replied.

They both continue eating in silence.

Meanwhile, Morty flies through the night and reaches Ami's residence. He perched by a tree and listens carefully...
