your hands moved up the umbrella and you ducked your head underneath the covered area. you looked up at the sign of the restaurant and squinted at the light above, "プロ" (professional in japanese)

"alright." you closed the umbrella and left it in the slot outside the restaurant. you were welcomed in with a warm greeting and you smiled. taking off your raincoat, you looked around at the old-fashioned posters and newspapers plastered on the wall.

giving the aesthetic of a retro theme, and old-school japanese vibes. you walked up to the cashier and pointed above at the menu. might as well get something to eat before my interview starts, i am 30 minutes early.

"i'll have number..." you placed your finger on your mouth, "do you guys have any specials?"

the cashier pointed over at the chalkboard on the side. "yakisoba!"

"i'll take that" you smiled and opened your wallet

"what did she order?" a male voice came by

you picked up your head and looked at a tall figure pointing at the register, "we just ran out of that" he looked you in the eye. your hand closed the wallet you just opened, "oh-bummer" you sighed, "what do you recommend?"

you looked at the name tag, "akaashi"

"the salmon onigiri with a side of our homemade sauce" he tilted his head while looking at you, "wait- are you here for the interview?"

oh, he must've looked at my resume online-

"yes" you nodded, "nice to meet you"

he made his way from the register and reached his hand out, "it's nice to meet you, i'm akaashi keiji"

"akaashi is fine" he added, "you're 30 minutes early"

"yeah" you looked at the cat clock with its side-to-side eyes. "don't worry about the food-" he waved his hand, "it's on me"

"really?" your eyes widen, "wow thank you"
