"on your right" akaashi squeezed right by you
you moved to the side and moved the hair from your face. you started working at the register and today were hostess. an employee called out today so akaashi had to come in and fill in for their spot. you noticed that he seemed a little stressed out.
when akaashi was heading back your way you tried to grab his attention to ask if he was okay but he didn't notice., you shrugged it off and went back to work.
you checked your phone and saw that haruna was stopping by to pick you up. but you know it's to see if she had a chance to talk to akaashi again. ever since they first met, she's been talking about him non-stop to you.
your shift ends in about 2 hours. you looked at the cat clock on the way making that ticking sound and followed its eyes moving side to side. you tuned out any other background noise and just stared at the clock.
"y/n"
is someone saying my name?
"y/n?" that clock is kinda creepy.
"y/n" akaashi took your hand. your eyes focused on him and he looked kind of concerned. you took your hand back and awkwardly chuckled, "sorry- one of those days"
"it's alright" akaashi laughed with you, "just wanted to know if there are any online orders coming in?"
you checked your online keypad and shook your head. "not any right now" you smiled
"i was going to ask-"you paused to look at him, "are you okay?"
his eyebrows furrowed and he nodded, "just a little tense"
he moved his shoulders and went into the break room, "can you help me with something?"
"i need a second opinion on an outfit."
you looked around to check if someone could fill in for your spot meantime and after you got that done you followed akaashi into the room.

"what's up with the outfit?" you asked, curious.
akaashi opened his locker and pulled out a neatly folded shirt and a pair of pants. "i have a family event tonight, and i'm not sure if this looks good together."
you smiled, feeling a bit more relaxed. "let's see."
akaashi changed into the outfit, and you took a step back to assess it. the shirt was a light blue button-down, and the pants were a dark, slim-fit pair.
"it looks really nice," you said honestly. "the colors go well together."
"thanks," akaashi replied, looking a bit relieved. "i just needed to make sure."
"no problem," you said. "do you need help with anything else?"
akaashi shook his head. "no, that's it. thanks, y/n."
you nodded and headed back to your post. as you resumed your work, you couldn't help but think about how different akaashi looked outside his usual work attire. it was a small glimpse into another side of him, and it made you smile.
time passed, and soon your shift was over. you grabbed your bag and headed out, finding haruna waiting outside.
"hey!" she greeted you, looking excited. "did you talk to akaashi?"
you nodded, "yeah, he's a bit stressed but doing okay."
"did he say anything about me?" haruna asked eagerly.
you laughed, "no, but he definitely noticed you."
haruna blushed a little, "good. let's go get something to eat and talk more about him."
you both walked down the street, chatting and laughing, the day's events already starting to fade into the background. as you listened to haruna's excitement, you couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. things were changing, and you were looking forward to whatever came next.
