chapter 4

*readers P.O.V*

It had been One week since Elizabeths passing and Ciel seemed to handle it just fine. Today was the day of her funeral and since we'd never spoken I had to stay at the Phantomhive Manor while Ciel and Sebastian went to say farewell to their beloved Lizzie. It's been an hour since they left and I haven't seen a single human in the mansion. "where on earth could the servants be" I mumled to myself when I heard a loud crash coming from the ballroom. I rushed down the stairs only to find Meyrin laying on the floor with a splattred vase surrounding her. "Oh my" I gasp rushing over to her offering her a helping hand, She shyly took it and stood up blushing. " I am so sorry Miss (y/n), I never meant to disturb your day alone" she splurted out in a deep bow. "Oh It's alright, I was quite bored anyways." I smiled at her. "plea-" Merin was disturbed by a loud knock on the main door. 'They can't be home already, right?' I thought moving towards the entrance hall. And there he stood, at the door smiling at Tanaka. The boy from that aweful night one week ago. Alois Trancy. His gaze met mine as he rushed towards me taking my hand. "Lady (y/n), How I've missed that glorious face of yours." and with that he kissed my bare hand. I could feel the heat on My cheeks starting to rise as i bowed lightly. "What a pleasure to see you again, Sir." I tried very Hard not to stutter and to my suprise i didn't. "Oh (y/n) the pleasure is all mine. all tho the reason I'm here is not for you. I've come to speak to Ciel." Just as I was about to answer, Tanaka began to speak. "Lord Trancy, Ciel is at his fiancee's funeral and will be back by tomorrow. We'd be more than happy to asign you a room while you wait for his arrival." The blond boy turned his gaze to Tanaka. "Very well. Claude will bring my things by later. For now I would like some sweets out in the garden with Miss (y/n)" He replied cheerfully before taking my hand and dragging me out to the garden. "Ciels garden is always so lovely, isn't it?" I asked to break the awkward silence. Alois turned his head to me with a huge smile plastered on his face "not as lovely as you, my dear" he said as he grabbed my waist, pulling my body close to his. I stared at him in chock trying to process what was happening when he let go of me laughing hysterically. "You should have seen your face, (y/n)!" He teased. Just as I was about to hit him back with a witty comment Meyrin came walking with a tray in her arms. "M-m-miss (y/n) and Lord Trancy, your tea is ready." She stuttered out. Alois laughter died out and he glared at the young maid. "YOU RUINED THE MOMENT YOU USELESS BITCH" he yelled at her as he slammed the tray out of her arms. I gasped and looked at the silver tray laying on the stone bricks. "Alois..." I began as he grabbed my hand and headed towards the table with our tea. We sat down at the beautifully set table across from each other and drank our tea in silence.

-later that day-

I was standing by a window looking at the rain as it poured down, it was really storming an aweful lot. I thought if there was anything to do to amuse me before I headed to bed, I know I should entertain the guest but I didn't feel like talking to Alois after the awkward afternoon. I thought I might head towards Ciels study room and read when a certain young boy called out for me. "Miss (y/n)!" I paused and looked behind me finding Alois walk down the hallway towards me. "Ah Alois, is there anything I can do for you? " I asked trying to sound as polite as I could. "Aren't you supposed to entertain me while I'm here? Because you're not doing a very good job." I knew he would ask that I just knew it. "I'm so sorry, did you have anything special in mind?" He smirked at my question and took my hand in his. "Yes, I'd like you to keep me company in my current room" he said as he started walking. "Alois, please I don't think that is such a good idea" he just ignored my complains and continued heading towards the guestroom he was staying in. after a minute of him dragging me and me protesting we were in the room. "Relax (y/n) nothing bad is going to happen I just want your assistance" I knew there was something more behind his words but I pushed it away for now. "What can I do for you?" He stared out the window a few seconds before answering, still looking out the window. "I am scared of the thunder and need you to sleep with me tonight" I was so sure my yaw was touching the ground, I must have looked like an idiot. Did he mean sleep sleep or sleep? Oh what should I say I can't just refuse him that would come of as rude. "V-very well then I'll ask Meyrin to get me ready for bed and will be back in a while" I said while heading towards the door. "No need for that, Meyrin can assist you in here can't she?" He looked alittle mad but I could sense the fear in his voice. "A lady shouldn't undress around a man she's not in a romantic relationship with, I really shou-" a loud thunder was heard and Alois clung himself to my body desperately "PLEASE (Y/N), PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME" I looked down at him and sighed softly. "Very well then" I said stroking his head.

We called for Meyrin and she helped us both change into nightgowns.

When we finally were in our nightgowns Meyrin left and I was alone with Lord Trancy. He layed down under the covers and signed for me to join him and calmly I did. When I felt his warm body next to mine my heart began to race like crazy. "Thank you ever so much (y/n)" Alois said as he wrapped his arms around me. We were kept awake for about an hour by the thunder but at last we both fell asleep in each others arms.
