"Your majesty? Your majesty. It's time to wake up," called a soft voice. The red headed man stirred, turned to the direction of the sound and half opened his eyes. The young king mumbled something incoherent as he rubbed them. Something close to an, "I'll kill you." His servant gave a soft chuckle.

"You're just like how you were when you were a prince. Never a morning person," his servant said in response.

"Shut up, Steve," demanded the servant's boss, none other than Pico, the currently very cranky king of Philadonia. (Philadelphia, where canon Pico lives but medieval). Steve was among one of the only people that saw this side of the young ruler. Usually short tempered and intimidating with a very threatening presence to him, the king was a lot calmer and peaceful around servants that he was close to.

"By the way, your royal highness, there was a letter addressed to you," Steve told him. Pico sat all the way up and held his hand out as a gesture for Steve to give it to him. Steve got out the envelope and did so. Pico scoffed after he skipped to the bottom of the letter to find out who it was from.

"The Gothic Nation. What do they want this time?" he muttered. Steve watched as his young master silently read the letter and raised his eyebrows in disbelief. He then shook his head and balled it up.

"If you are comfortable disclosing this, what did it say?" Steve questioned.

"The king of that nation has a daughter. He wants us to get married and form an alliance," Pico explained. "I don't even know the wretch that well. I think her name is... Camelia? Something long..." he guessed.

"Cassandra, sir," Steve corrected.

"It doesn't matter. I run this kingdom just fine. I don't need to form an alliance and I most definitely don't need someone to share power with," Pico said. He turned to Steve. "You get it, right?" he asked.

His servant, who felt obligated to say yes, nodded.

"What do I have today?" Pico asked his other servant after taking a shower and getting dressed.

"Well, today should be pretty relaxing. You were up late last night doing a week's worth of signing and paperwork, so you just have that meeting and then..." as his other servant, Darnell listed the work he had ahead of him, Pico began to dread being king. He was quite excited to rule after he got over his loss, but all of that went away once he realized how much of a drag it could be.

"Sir? Sir," Darnell called, raising his voice to get Pico back to Earth.

"Huh? Oh."

"Do you want me to cancel the fencing lesson you have with Boyfriend this evening?" he asked.

"No, it's alright. I'm getting rusty, anyway," Pico answered, mentally preparing himself for yet another busy day.
