Heading straight towards the allotted room for the bride, ashwin anxiously strolled through the banquet hall. With his heart beat rushing as he took each step he made sure that no one recognized him and stood before the bride's room fidgeting his fingers. He was broken and vulnerable trying hard to cop up with his emotions. His blood shot red eyes clearly indicated his nervous state.
"I wish I had been here for you earlier. It might have made all the difference"
Sivaangi sat down broken seeing her own reflection concealing all her feelings. Even her heavy makeup and heavy jewellery couldn't mask her unhappiness. She caressed her chain which had a tiny pendant 'A ❤ S' which was carefully camouflaged inside her bridal kancheepuram saree blouse.
"I wish if you were here. It might have made all the difference"
A lone tear caressed her face which she quickly wiped and arranged her saree pleats. In a trice, she heard a knock on the door and she quickly covered up her tears and opened the door.
The door slid open and their eyes met. Their eyes got connected and both stood immobile looking each other after almost a year. She looked at those eyes who taught her what first love is and he looked at those eyes who gave him selfless love.
"Ashwin?" sivaangi stumbled seeing him but she managed to balance herself.
"Sivaangi" he asked in his warm tone reminding her of the endless memories they had together.
Sivaangi's eyes welled up and all her feelings started to fall down as tears. Ashwin sighed seeing her in this condition. That same eye who was the source of happiness from his college days doesn't reflect that happiness anymore. All he could feel was guilty to see her in tears.
"Neengae ippo inge ethukku vanthen?" she asked with no sympathy showing no sign of fragility.
(Why did you come?)
"Yen? Naan vara koodatha?" asked ashwin looking straight into her eyes.
(Why? Am I not allowed?)
"Ashwin please don't make it difficult for me. So just..." she paused when she saw ashwin move closer to her with all his overflowing emotions.
"Ashwin...appa ungale paartha avlo than...please inga irundhu poidu" she pleaded him even though internally she wanted him to stay.
(Just go from here before my father spot you)
Swallowing his tears he asked "En kanne paathu sollu ma....will you be happy marrying someone else?"
Self realization hit sivaangi and she couldn't deny the fact that she can't have a happy married life with someone else when she still has feelings for ashwin. Her face turned pale and tears flowed uncontrollably and she turned ignoring his glistened eyes. Sivaangi stood blank without uttering a word and shifted her eyes from those powerful eyes which had the power to decipher her feelings even after their relationship dynamics changed drastically in the past one year.
Ashwin breathed out and confessed "Sivaangi I still love you"
She could feel her heartbeats thumping loudly, the breeze of euphoria flowed smoothly in the air crossing seas, roads, bridges and falling over her like rain drops. Her mind recollected all those sweet memories they had in their past. She got transported to those happy days of their life where only happiness prevailed.
