Although somewhat uncommon, Lureax would fight over mates - as mating season was a serious thing. If two or more layed eyes on the same Lureax, they'd usually fight for their affection - or try to out gift the other. Either way; it ends up being a competition.

Blue had already set his eyes on someone, but knew well that they wouldn't like him back - and he was weak when it came to battles. He decided to try and get by mating season alone, knowing well no one will come after him of all people.

His soft, off-white blue wings lightly fluttered, as a Feather would fall to the ground. Shedding feathers was quite common for growing Lureax, as he wasn't entirely an adult yet. Mating season and.. outright being horny where two different things for Lureax; as during mating season, it's mostly focused on the romance aspects rather than the reproductive ones, even if Lureax experience similar hormones to that of a human. However, they can experience "heat" for about a month if left on their own, but that's something not to dwell on.

Blue admittedly wanted to find a mate. He could outside of mating season, but as Lureax aren't entirely human-like, his instincts to find one only heightened. Yet he hoped he could fight off those instincts and-

"Did you.. drop this?"

Blue would yelp, hearing a voice from behind as someone tapped his shoulder. Whipping around, he'd see another Avian Lureax about his age, immediately recognising him. It was Phoenix; his love interest, and one who was fairly known in the Be'engi clan for... various reasons, namely his close relationship with the current leader - Grimm.

Blue soon noticed the large crystal Phoenix held in his hand. "O-Oh! Yes- I... Thank you-"

Phoenix nodded his head, "You're welcome" He and Blue where somewhat friends, as they'd hang out from time to time, but Blue wasn't sure if Phoenix wanted to call him a friend - so it was left unconfirmed.

Blue placed the crystal in the bag around his waist, as most Lureax would carry a bag like that with them. "A-Anyways, this may be a bit strange to ask, but... about mating season-"

"Yes, I'm interested in someone. I've been asked mostly by Auntie Griffa if I have." Phoenix quickly responded, sighing "I haven't gotten anything for them yet. Although; Its tempting to get a Strizaix for them."

"Wh- Aren't they dangerous?" Blue appeared shocked at Phoenix's idea, "Why not something more easy; Like a Nareth, or even a Pherol! Hunting a Strizaix is asking for death!"

"Ah, right. I had the idea of a starchild for a moment, but," Phoenix would then look down to the green, rounded creature by his side. It was Acrux; his companion and navigator, being rumoured to be one of the last starchildren alive.

"I don't think many people are interested in starchildren, anyways." Blue said "I'm nervous that my interest won't like me back... I mean, he is a guy, after all."

"I'm sure everything will be fine, Blue," Phoenix reassured with a smile, "You can come with me on the hunt, if you'd like."

"R-Really?" Blue blushed. Hunting with another Lureax outside of family, and without being assigned, would usually be a sign of trust, and in some cases romance. As the two would make their way towards the surrounding forest, they'd halt for a moment as a voice would call out for them to stop.
