Drista comes home from school and Dream notices that she looked upset, when he confronts her she tells him everything
Dream POV
I was sitting on my parent's couch, they were gone for the week and wanted me to watch my sister since she didn't want to go. I was watching law and order before I saw my sister come through the door and slam it, she ran upstairs and then again slammed her bedroom door. Being the good older brother I am, I went upstairs to see what was wrong, I was about to open the door but realized it was locked "hey, what's up? You seem mad" I asked gently not wanting to upset her anymore "nothing happened I'm fine" she yelled in an annoyed but sad tone "we both know that's not true, now what happened?" I asked one more time "I said it was nothing, leave me alone! She yelled louder, I stumbled away from the door upon hearing my sister yell like that "drista open this door right now!" (yes I'm going to use the name drista) I tried not to yell but I was getting worried and slightly mad. I soon heard sniffing from inside the room, and immediately felt bad for yelling "I'm sorry drista, just please open the door I'm worried about you" I explained softly.
I asked her to open the door a few more times before I heard the sound of feet shuffling and the door click, I opened it to see a puffy-eyed drista holding a stuffed bear, I pulled her into a hug and rubbed her back trying to calm her down, I felt my chest become wet and heard muffled cries come from her. I pulled away and looked her in the eyes "what happened?" I asked in a stern but gentle tone "Dey not bein good fwiends!" She explained rubbing her eyes "who isn't, princess?" I asked while holding her hand and bringing her into the living "da people at school dey keep tellin me dat I stupid cause I can't do math well an dat I childish an annoyin" she explained while sitting on the couch. I tried to control my anger and started asking questions "that's not good of them, what are their names?" I asked trying to get some more information "not tellin chu, if I does den Dey gonna be even meaner" she explained while keying her head on my shoulder "ok I won't force you, but can you please tell me how old your feeling?" I switched over to CG space and started just focusing on cheering up my little "I dis many" she replied while holding up three fingers "Thank you, princess, Now how about I get us some hot chocolate and we can watch a bunch of movies or shows" her eyes lit up and she nodded rapidly, I chuckled and reached for the remote "what do you want to watch?" I questioned "gwavity falls!" She yelled excitedly, I nodded and turned it on quickly before getting up and walking towards the kitchen.
I put the water in the kettle and went to Drista's room while it heated up. I entered her room and grabbed a green paci, a hedgehog stuffed animal, and one of her oversized hoodies before walking back into the kitchen where the kettle just started making noise indicating it was finished. I poured the water into a mug and one of those spill-proof child cups, I grabbed the hot chocolate mix and stirred it into both of the cups before putting mini marshmallows in them and bringing everything into the living room. "Here you go princess, but be careful it's still hot" I warned before handing her the cup, she carefully blew on it before placing it on the coffee table "fank chu bubba" she mumbled, "of course baby, now can you lift up your arms for me?" I asked softly, she lifted her arms up and I slid the hoodie onto her before handing her the stuffie and holding the paci up to her mouth, she took the paci in her own hands and put it in her mouth before smiling at me and making grabby hands. I smiled and walked over to her and sitting next to her, she rested her head on my shoulder and sat there for a bit before taking her paci out and slowly sipping on her hot chocolate. She started nodding her head before snapping back up again "are you tired princess?" I asked smiling she shook her head no but before she could protest she laid her head on my shoulder and I quickly took her hot chocolate before it spilled everywhere and continued to watch gravity falls until I fell asleep as well.
I woke up to the sound of sobbing and instantly looked over to see Drista curled up pulling her hair, I instantly shot up and hugged her "what happened are you hurt?!" I asked quickly, she shook her no but continued to cry "princess listen to me, breath in for 4" she started to breath in "hold for 4" she then held her breath "and breath out for 4" she breathed out, we continued this for a bit longer until she was resting in my arms still breathing heavily but no longer crying "what happened?" I questioned "had nightmawe" she answered her voice trembling a bit "aw I'm sorry princess nightmares aren't fun, how about you go back to sleep and I'll stay awake and make sure no more bad dreams happen" I offered "yes plz, fank you bubba" she laid her head on my chest and slowly fell back asleep, and the rest of the night was nightmare free.
It's times like these I wish I had a CG, but anyways I hope you enjoyed and stay safe <3
