There I stood, in a tumultuous crowd, people were dancing to the rhythm, their bodies dancing in sync, the music roars loudly from every angle of the room. I take a quick sip from the drink on my hand as my eyes darted across the room.
I keep looking around, person to person, I turned my body around to a laugh behind me. my attention seems to drive to this one individual no matter how much I look around. Her head resting on her fist. She smiled widely towards the strangers who I assume are her friends. She turned her head towards me, and she spotted me from the other side of the room. She flashes her green eyes at me, her orbs burning through me as our eyes locked. I observed her stunning features, angel kisses splattered beautifully on her face. The voices sounds muffled, she was all I can focus on, It felt like the time stopped moving.
She kept her toothy smile while keeping her attention to me, clearly sparking a huge interest towards me. "Elizabeth!" I hear an indistinct yell coming from her direction, her attention went back to her friends as I tried to distract myself by taking a few shots of tequila. The burn down my throat takes over. While I was chatting with the bartender, I could feel her stealing glances at me, I finally turned my back again to her direction and our eyes met again.
The night went on, I spent the rest of the night dancing and swaying my body around, losing myself to the rhythm. I danced with a couple of strangers near me, then there she is, my body met hers. We swayed and grinded together in sync while smiling, the event goes on without saying a single word to each other, she took off her necklace and put it around me, but I was too lost in the music to notice. What felt like 5 minutes later, she separated herself from the dance floor. I keep dancing smoothly to the melodies. That burning feeling of someone watching me is still here. When my body felt like it had enough, I called one of my friends to pick me up, and there she is again, the stranger I had chemistry without saying a single word.
A part of me wanted to go to her and learn a million things about her, I want to know her. But before I could go to her, a mysterious arm snaked around her, wrapping her tight as she fell into joyful laughter. I undoubtly felt part of me shatter at the view of this attractive stranger kissing passionately with someone else. I immediately walked as fast as I possibly could through the crowd, my shoulder roughly bumps against other's. I felt like I was suffocating, I needed to breathe.
As I got out, I spotted the familiar car, I got closer to the vehicle, the sight of my friend busy on her phone was barely visible with the dark tinted window. I heard a notification from my phone which I assumed that it was her texting me that she just got here. I opened the door abruptly, startling my friend who jumped in her seat. I got in and slammed the door roughly. "Woah calm down, that was scary, what's wrong with you?! I thought someone was going to kidnap and murder me." She yelled, her breathing erratic. "I'm sorry, I really don't want to talk about it now, can we go home please?" I requested her with the softest tone as an apology. "Yeah of course, but please don't do that again, that scared the shit out of me." she responded, understanding.
I looked out the window, a few drops of tears running down my cheek gently. I sighed, as the scene replayed in my mind. It was the moment I knew, it's her. She made me feel something that I never felt before, it's absurd how a few gazes ricocheting could affect me so much. I said my thank you and I ran to my room, and did my night routine. I threw myself to the bed in a starfish position. My body relaxes as my eyelids grow heavy while closing slowly.
The next few days went on, and not a single day without her face crossing my mind. I walked in to the grocery store searching for food supplies. I heard a familiar laughter and I snapped my heard towards the sound, and there she is, the beautiful stranger, throwing her head back in a fit of laughter. I was about to greet her and return the necklace that I think is hers, but my smile quickly dropped when I noticed the person beside her, their hands locked together. She looks really happy. I tried to ignore her and got my things and paid them in the cashier, forgetting to return the necklace.
