A mainly Kiibo cantered oneshot fic, mostly angst besides like 2 sentences, he/they kiibo :)
It starts off pre-game however it mentions when it becomes in-game

Major character death mention !!!! (+ just a bunch of general angst and disliking towards one's self)
[spoiler warning to mastermind+drv3 character death!!]

Kiibo never was good with understanding emotions.

Yes, they could feel them, but it was difficult to put them to place.
He grew up feeling different to his peers. They had friends yes, friends who made him happy! But they couldn't help the isolated and different feeling.

They don't act the way he does.

He doesn't understand how they feel, so why would he expect them to understand them?

They felt like a stranger to themselves. He never understand personality too well, doesn't that change depending on who you're with? Sometimes loud? Sometimes quite? Sometimes rude? Nice? Optimism? Realist?

We have all these labels yet absolutely nothing fits.
They felt so stupid,

"Which words describe you?"
They didn't know, they all applied to him depending on the day, the mood, the person, just so many factors

It was stupid really, everyone had a different view of him

Smart, stupid, pretty, annoying, could I go on?

He tried to not care, they tried really hard

It didn't work.

They tried to form himself to be like how another would like most, loud with her, shy with him, a listener with them. So at least if he couldn't figure himself out, they could be at least a little useful

But when they got a chance to create a personality, an ultimate, a character it felt like an instant good idea

Somehow, the thought they could die barely crossed their mind.
. . .
They think they thought like that on purpose though.

Yet somehow, he still was different

He was handed a personality, a talent (could to you even call it that?) a character on a silver plate and they still couldn't accept themselves

From the weird child of an inventor to the weird robot, was not different at all.

Was it worse? He couldn't tell

But

But

Regardless of all their stupid personality struggles, he was there for the (now) robot

"Hey! What you view yourself or how others view you as doesn't matter, alright? You're a good person and that's all that matters!"

Somehow the personality change still kept his same kindness. He impressed Kiibo.

He never once claimed he could fix the robots issue, or that he fully understood it, he just simply claimed to always be there for the other as support

Kiibo never really doubted his sexuality per say, it was always just an "okay whatever I am doesnt matter" although regardless of an prior doubt he could confidently say they were certainly not straight after meeting him.

The way his green hair was always fluffy and soft to touch, his weird rings that Kiibo thought would be uncomfortable

He really liked the other.

And that was an emotion they weren't too sure how to process.

They could push the emotion away until it eventually left, he could just be so negative it eventually went away, they could distance themselves

Although if Kiibo was being honest, they didn't want to do any of those.

They were in a killing game, but they were childhood friends!

(Or did Tsumugi lie)

He couldn't just push him away!

(Was that part false too?)

He'd be there for them at their most difficult moments and Kiibo did the same for he other

(No, it has to be real, his "pre killing game" self was talking to a different personality green haired friend)

Kiibo wasn't going to act on his feelings. It's what they've been doing since

(Since?)

Since..
Well
They can't quite remember when.
That's strange.

(There must have been a glitch, there should've been some false memory put in place)

It would make both him and the other sad if they distanced themselves! They would feel awful if they made their close friend upset! How could they even think that selfishly!

Ouma would say it's because they're a robot

(But he wasn't always a robot, so maybe they're just selfish)

The other was the only person Kiibo ever opened up about feeling different to, he took it surprisingly well and it felt like he just knew what to say

I wasnt special, he must've done this to all his friends right?

It felt like regardless of their countless personality struggles and difference issues, the other was there.

The usual isolation snow storm seemed to calm down and melt for the other, and gave Kiibo a chance to feel accepted

The other always told him he was here to stay.

Kiibo maybe thought he didn't need to have themselves figured out

As long as they had an idea, and kept trying to be a good person, that's all that matters right?

Its okay if they felt different, he had someone he felt happy around

Kiibo felt more perky than normal.

Regardless of the robophobia, he wasn't letting himself feel different

The other noticed this, and smiled, God, Kiibo enjoyed that smile.

Kiibo understood another person couldn't fix all his issues, they had to do that himself. They couldn't depend entirely on another, however he still thought of as the green haired person as a good happiness motivator.

He of course felt a little down when they didn't see them throughout the day, but they remembered not to be so clingy.

The feeling of the isolation snow storm never left, it just turned to a peaceful breeze, something a little easier to work with!

Although,

The winds picked up again when he saw Rantaro Amami in the library.

(You lied, you weren't here to stay)

hi hi so I purposely didn't mention rantaros name, even though I described him very much ;; thought it would be better? I don't know really,
I'm still new to writing proper characters and such so constructive criticism is accepted :)

I created this pretty late at night so I'm gonna sleep now; good day :)
