Childe loved his family more than anything.
He'd do anything for his family if it made them happy.
Let me ask a question.
If he never fell into the abyss, would he be in this position? Perhaps not.
"That piece of sh*t is better off in the fatui."
"But, dear, that's too harsh! Surely we have another solution?.. I'll fix this behavior! I promise!"
"You've been saying that for WEEKS. I can't do this anymore. He's not my son. He's a monster."
Those were the last words poor Ajax ever heard from his parents before being sent off to the fatui.
And Ajax is the man we now know as Childe. The 11th harbinger of the fatui. A delusion was gifted to him by the Tsaritsa, the cryo archon. I'm sure everyone knows that Delusions drain the life force out of you. Take Teppei for an example. He was given a delusion, and he eventually passed away. The delusions the fatui use for themselves drain the life force out of you slower than a normal delusion. Childe would eventually die.
Childe is off to Inazuma to find the Balladeer.
"Big brother? When will you come home?"
"I'll come home soon, Teucer. Inazuma needs toys too. Be a good boy and take care of Tonia and Anthon for me, Okay?"
"Oh. Okay.. I.. Do you.. Still love me?"
"What kind of a question is that Teucer?! Of course I still love you! I'll let you know, My love for you and the others is everlasting. Remember that, okay? I must be going soon."
"I.. Okay! S-Stay safe, okay?"
"I will! Don't worry, Teucer."
He's just a liar.
"Scaramouche! Hand over the gnosis!" Ajax demanded. The Balladeer laughed at him. Did Childe think he would just hand over the gnosis when demanded? "I'll give it when I DIE! It's no use, Tartaglia." Scaramouche replied. Childe charged towards the Balladeer and they fought for hours I couldn't count. Childe was dying, everything hurt. "We could do this forever, Childe. But, I'd rather end it right now." Before Scaramouche could hit Childe, Childe managed to grab the gnosis from The Balladeer's hand. He striked Scaramouche one last time combining his powers with the gnosis, and Scaramouche was no more.
Childe used all his strength, using both his delusion and Foul legacy form. Everything hurt. He was.. crying of pain. Eventually, he passed out and was found dead a few days later.
Signora, Childe, and Scaramouche were slain. Many agents in the lower ranks of the fatui were shocked by this news. The Tsaritsa didn't really care, atleast she got her precious gnosis.

The death of those three harbingers became popular all around Teyvat. Oh. He didn't stay safe at all, he died. What would be Teucer's reaction when he hears the news? He'll find out eventually, wont he?
