*POV of a future sidekick*

I've never been one to make decisions, not even on a name. The pressure of something never being able to change is too much, so a name is too much for me. Everything is just so different, and while others usually know what they want, I don't. I never have and never will. My life up to the point I became a sidekick has been pretty dull. The only thing I could choose to do was take up this temporary position until I find myself. My parents told me about it, and since I had no better ideas I decided to just do it. My life has been spent on useless activities, and wasting it more couldn't happen. The hero I'm working under has a similar disposition to him. He also cannot make his own decisions. His power is to copy other powers, and that's exactly what he does in other aspects of his life too. He rose to fame in a typical way, and continues to copy the events that have made everyone love hero's. There's nothing really different about him, and that's exactly what I wish to avoid. Being average. Average is boring, and although my life has no direction, at least I'm not like all the others. The name of this self proclaimed "magnificent hero" is Captain Echo. I know, lame. I start with him today, and I could never be more excited /s. Well, at least I'm making good money. I get in the back seat of my Uber, and sit waiting for the 20 minute ride.

*Villain's POV*

My parents were always very different. As a child, my dad would drop me off at school and make my lunch in the beginning of the day. He was the kindest man I'd ever known. It was quite the opposite for my mom. She was never home, and always busy working on her job as a hero but she always made it seem like her decisions for me were always in my best interest. She nagged me about my grades constantly and never ceased to remind me of my potential. She wanted me to go to law school, even though I've never shown any interest in it. I never knew what my dad did, but I always wanted to be just like him. Every time I mentioned it to my mom, she got hysterical. I guess that's probably why I became so determined on it. One day I decided to ask my father what he did that made him so great, and I finally understood why my mother was that upset. He was a villain, the polar opposite of my mom. I was uncertain on what to do with that information, but I decided to stick to my word. My mom was furious when she found out. She had always wanted to protect me from his side of the family and his wrongdoings. I decided to start fighting this guy named Captain Echo. He was my mom's partner, the reason she was never with me. I heard he had to get a new sidekick as I'd hospitalized the last one, and I can't wait to do it again.
