"You know what, let's leave." He finally said to her as she looked like she could cry, or she didn't, he'd never seen her almost cry before. Just as he turned his back an object hit the back of his head and landed behind his feet.

"Did you just throw your shoe at me?" he was in utter disbelief.

"Pretty sure I did." He clarified. He wasn't that timid after all.

Guess they could become friends.

Eli and Jenny simultaneously ran with an in-sync rhythm followed by every step on the uneven ground. And finally, when they were close to Lock, they shoved him into the filthy lake. They rolled about the grass crying helplessly as the other struggled in the lake. The boy pulled himself from the murky water and steadied himself for a damn good chase. They just knew they had to flee. At the moment with Jenny running next to him with Goldi covered in the mud chasing them, he knew the three of them would make the best of friends.

And once they figured out he was a Schmidt and observed neither in the family to have his golden hair, he realised his name really suited him as much as Jenny suited hers.
