In my mind I see a light,
Way above my head,
Shimmering, sparkling, glistening bright,
And then the light is dead.
I feel the warmth around me,
I wrap it 'round me tight,
For fear that it might fade away,
And leave me in the night.
I pray that God might hear me,
That light once again will shine,
But my prayers are left unanswered,
And the darkness is all that's mine.
