~The next day~

I woke up at 05.00 am again and did my morning routine. I was about to leave the room, but my cell phone which was on the nightstand vibrated. Curious, I took it, then checked the notification. "Ah, it's from the professor," I muttered as I opened the message. It only contained a short message asking me to come to his laboratory this morning at 9 am for a monthly check up. I replied, agreeing him, then put my phone back on the nightstand. Luckily, I have nothing to do today, so I can come to professor's laboratory.

I went to the main room while checking the surroundings. Once again, Reiji was there, facing the window. "What is he doing now?" I thought. He didn't budge. I did a quick scan of his body. "Body temperature, normal. Heart rate, normal. Breathing, normal," I finished the scan and focused on his figure who still didn't seem to notice my presence. I'm confused whether to surprise him like yesterday, or just stay here and wait for him to notice me.
Finally, after debating with my thoughts, I decided to stood at my place and watch his movements.

Reiji sighed softly, then touched the window with his palm. I could barely hold my curiosity. "According to my data, Reiji's attitude is similar to yesterday morning. I've been watching the things he did closely, and I'm 99.9% sure that he's sad. I just need the physical evidence," I thought. I walked slowly towards him, trying not to make any noise, imitating Camus's walking style. However, my attempt failed miserably. When I was walking three steps forward, Reiji spontaneously turned around. "A-Ai-Ai!" he said, making me freeze.

Reiji stared at me and I stared back at him. I saw very clearly that his eyes were red and puffy. I glanced at his cheek, there were traces of tears there. "Okay, physical evidence is available. Reiji is 100% sad," I thought. "Now the question is... what made him sad?"
I tilted my head slightly and asked, "what's wrong with you? It's obvious that you've been crying. From how red your eyes are, I guess you've been crying for hours."
Reiji goggled his eyes, then shook his head, "There's nothing wrong with me. I'm fine, Ai-Ai. I just... had a bad dream last night," he replied. I obviously didn't believe it. "Your answer is irrelevant to your current situation. If you had a bad dream and cry, your eyes won't swell because as far as I know, humans don't cry too hard while dreaming. At least not to the point of making your eyes puffy."

Reiji opened his mouth, but no sound came out. "Okay, I'll change my question. What made you sad?" I asked after 1 minute and 35 seconds of silence. Reiji didn't answer right away. He lowered his head, then laughed a little. I knew he wasn't laughing out of joy. "You really can't be tricked, can you, Ai-Ai," he muttered. He looked up slightly and our eyes met. "In short... I miss someone,"
I furrowed my brows, "who do you miss?" I asked straight away. Reiji exhaled slowly, then turned to the window. "Just an old friend. Not too important. You don't have to worry about me, Ai-Ai."

"I'm not worried about you. I'm just curious. Besides, if you keep this up all day, or for the next few days, it's going to cost all four of us," I said flatly. "Awh... you're so cold," Reiji said while still looking out the window. "Don't worry, I won't harm you. I'm fine, really. I just need breakfast and my energy will come back!"
He turned and rolled up his sleeves. Ah, yeah, today was Reiji's turn to cook. He walked fast to the kitchen, muttering to himself about what he was going to make.

~8.05 am~

"Oi, what plans do you guys have today?" Ranmaru asked while cleaning his bass. "Hmm... I don't have any plans," replied Reiji who was currently on the sofa. Camus took a sip of his tea before replying, "I'll go to some pastry shops and try some good pastries,"
"Ugh, you sweet-tooth," Ranmaru grumbled in a low voice. Luckily, Camus didn't hear it. Ranmaru turned to me who was next to him for an answer. "I'm going to visit my father," I answered simply. The one I call 'my father' is the professor. I think that makes sense considering the fact that he was the one who made me.
"Wow, Ai-Ai really loves his father, huh~!" exclaimed Reiji. I turned to him and said yes to him to prevent him from babbling.
