Prologue:
Our running footsteps could be heard throughout the empty street. Running from who? I have no clue. All I know is mom woke me up, screaming about running before they find us. Before they killed us. I was a good 10 feet away from my mom when I heard her stop running.
"Ma, what are ya doin'?! We gotta go!"I yelled, turning to look at her.
"No. They want me, not you. You need ta go. Keep runnin' an' don look back"
What? Is she wacko?
"What? Are ya crazy?! I'm not goin' anywhere until ya come with me ma!" I yelled panicking. They'll catch up ta us soon.
"Ali, don be stubborn. Not now. You've got ta save yoursel-" her voice was cut off by the sound of gunshots.
