Mr. Kim.
That's what he wanted you to call him and so you did.
Mr. Kim was your neighbor. He was an older man, divorced and had two sons who were around your age that you never met but he would talk about them sometimes when he would talk to you.
Mr. Kim was handsome and you've heard from your other neighbors that he use to be a singer back in the day but you weren't interested enough to learn more about that.
He would always ask about your day when he saw you and you would answer politely. He would compliment your appearance, causing you to become rather shy. He would sometimes mention his friend Taeyong who was apparently a famous choreographer from time to time, mostly about the little dates they would go on.
Mr. Kim was okay.
Mr. Kim was unassuming.
Mr. Kim was safe.
You woke up to knocking on your door and rubbed the sleep out of your eyes as you got up from your bed.
You walked to your door, wondering who was at your apartment at this time of night, looking through the peephole only to meet the body of Mr. Kim.
You unlocked your door, curiosity filling up your body, opening the wooden door to be met with Mr. Kim's brown eyes.
He was donned in all black, a black turtleneck, black jeans paired with black dress shoes. His hair was styled in its normal, non messy way.
"Ummm... Mr. Kim what are you doing here so late?" You asked innocently.
The man sighed.
"I haven't seen you all day today. Where were you?" He asked sternly.
You frowned slightly.
Where did that come from?
"What?"
"You heard me. I don't like repeating myself."
The frown of confusion still gracing your features, you said "I-I got a new job downtown. I'm working as a director at the art museum and my job lasts for hours."
Mr. Kim was quiet, his face deep in thought and this made you nervous.
You liked spending time and talking to the handsome older man. He was very easy to talk too and had a lot of interesting stories to tell.
You didn't want him to be mad at you. It wasn't like you purposely ignored him.
A smile soon broke out onto Mr. Kim's lips.
"That's amazing. I remember you telling me about you applying for that position. You should've told me earlier."
You blew out a breath you didn't even know you were holding.
"I'm sorry Mr. Kim. I was actually gonna tell you by personally inviting you to our Japanese exhibit on landscape paintings." you told him and the smile on his lips grew even bigger.
"You're such a sweet little thing." he said which made you flushed slightly.
You were never use to his compliments and flirty words as you never understood why the older man would even praise someone like you.
"Well... Do you want to come to the exhibit Mr. Kim?" you asked, waiting for his answer.
The man chuckled, his smile never faulting.
"Of course I do."
