"You know, my dad can't stop talking about you." Jeno said, chuckling slightly.
"He always goes on and on about his cute neighbor. I swear, I think my dad has a crush on you." he laughed.
You giggled, looking over to see the shock expression on Mr. Kim's face before giggling some more.
Jeno sighed.
"So... You're an art director?"
You swallowed your food, nodding.
"Yeah. I went to school for Anthropology and Art History and got the job at the art museum downtown. It's a really cool job honestly." and as you explained the details of your job, Doyoung watched carefully as you talked to his son, his plan working out more better than he expected.
"Whoa! That's so cool! I didn't know you had to do all of that to be an art director." Jeno said in wonderment.
You scratched the back of your head, "Yeah," you started. "It's a bit difficult but I absolutely love it." You smiled.
Turning your head, you looked at Mr. Kim who was quietly eating his dinner. You just now noticed how silent he was.
"Mr. Kim is everything okay? You've been quiet this whole time?" you asked him, genuinely worried.
Mr. Kim smiled.
"I'm fine. Really. I love seeing you getting to know my son."
You laughed slightly.
"Oh." you said, looking away.
Jeno laughed at your reaction.
"Does my dad make you flustered?" he asked you and you blinked rapidly, stumbling on your words as you were thrown off guard.
You'll admit, you did have a slight crush on your neighbor but he didn't need to know that.
"Uh.. I-I-" and Jeno interrupted you with another laugh.
"It's okay! I'm only messing with you." he said before changing the topic.
When you were done with your plate, you checked the time on your phone, cursing lowly.
"What's wrong beautiful?" Mr. Kim asked you.
"I usually play Mario Kart with my dad on Friday nights and I'm late." you pouted
Mr. Kim nodded.
"Go. I wouldn't want to hold you up or anything. I'm sure your father is waiting for you."
"Are sure? Because I can cancel and-" Mr. Kim chuckled.
"No no no. Go. It was wonderful having you over. Isn't that right Jeno?"
Jeno nodded, his eyes turning into crescents as he smiled.
"Yeah. It was really nice meeting you. Maybe we can hangout sometime when you're not busy." he suggested.
"Y-yeah. That'll be cool." You responded to him. You turned back to Mr. Kim. "Thanks for inviting me to dinner. It was really delicious."
"You're welcome here anytime, you know that. Now go. Don't keep your father waiting too long." He said.
You said your goodbyes and walked off to the door and out of the apartment.
"Hmph... I can see why you like them." Jeno crossed his arms, leaning back into the chair. "They seem so submissive."
"They are submissive." Doyoung corrected his son.
His fingers tapped on the dinning room table.
"Well?" Doyoung said, "Do you like them?"
Jeno laughed at his father's nervousness.
"Of course I do dad! They seem like a good fit for you. Honestly, I've never seen you this nervous over anyone before. Also, you never tried this hard for anyone." Jeno noted to which Doyoung sighed.
"I just... I don't want to scare them away. I have to ease them into this relationship. I have to make them want me to where even the thought of leaving me terrifies them. I can't just continue using violence you know. I have break their mind first."
Jeno nodded.
"Ah. I get it. Break their mind and mold them into the perfect lover."
Doyoung smiled.
"Exactly."
Jeno yawned.
"I'm getting a bit tired so I'm gonna head to bed. Goodnight dad." he said before getting up. He began walking off to the guest bedroom when he stopped, turning around, curiosity written on his features.
"Hey dad, quick question." Jeno said which caused Doyoung to rise his head as he was lost in thought.
"Have they met Haechan yet?"
Doyoung sighed.
"No. Not yet. Why do you ask?"
"Nah it's just," Jeno started. "I'm sure Haechan would love them too."
Doyoung nodded, a warm smile on his lips.
"Me too."
