The most incredible thing about love is that it may take years to understand. Even if you read every article and theory, as there are so many different bits and pieces of love, you may still never understand it completely. Just as Theo may never understand why he was so furious at this moment. He may never understand why his heart sank when Ashton wasn't the last to leave his potions class that day, or Why when he had found the lost boy, he looked extremely malnourished, sleep deprived and as if he had been sobbing profusely.
He looked down at the boy sleeping in his arms and his brows furrowed with confusion and mild frustration. He had to pick him up after he tripped down a step, his legs too weak to carry himself. But the thing that confused Theo the most, was why he felt concern for someone who was only meant to be another name on his list.
He made his way carefully down to the dungeons. As it was only Afternoon, no one was in the common room, so he was able to slip into Ashton's room without any mediling questions. Questions he most likely would not be able to answer. He looked around the room. It was relatively clean, but the bed closest to the wall on the right hand side caught his attention. A plate of pumpkin pasties and an empty glass sat on the bedside table.
He cursed, pulling out his wand and summoned fresh pastries from the kitchens and water to add to the glass.
He took a step back, eyeing the sleeping boy then sighed sitting on the bed across from him. What a time this has been. He had heard about Ashton at the sorting, though the only thing to catch his attention at the time was as it seemed to him; The boy never smiled. He had met a couple transfers, but they were rare and most of them were transfers from hogwarts. The only reason he has been stuck in this situation, was because Regina had brought to his attention that Ashton is the one person (other than the ones he deemed below him) in slytherin he has yet to take to bed. He paused for a moment as regret boiled into his stomach. His fists balled as a memory recalled in his mind.
He immediately pushed the feeling away and stood up. Something about this one was different. He wasn't sure why. Perhaps it was because he was the first person to actually refuse him, in front of everyone. Something about the thrill of victory when he finally gave in, even if he only agreed to being in a relationship. It was a relationship nonetheless. Perhaps it was the fascination That captivated him. The boy who he couldn't care less about, filled his thoughts. The boy who's crystalline amber eyes lay hidden beneath his pale eyelids. Who's honey colored hair curled slightly as it reached his rose pink lips. He clenched his teeth furiously. This wasn't going to happen again. He turned on his heel and stomped out of the dorm.
He stormed through the corridors, not even attempting to seem inconspicuous. flicking his wand he repeated a spell Penny had shown him. A small piece of aged parchment materialized in the palm of his hand, an elegant script scribbled across it. Regaining his composure and fixing his tie, he opened the door to the transfiguration classroom. All eyes turned to him, Just as he liked. The Lady standing in the front of the classroom placed her hand on her hip and pursed her lips, the look of annoyance made clear in her beady black eyes. Her bun stood at the top of her head, just as uptight as she was. She stood on a stack of books, otherwise she would not be able to write on the chalkboard properly. "I'm sorry Professor, Professor Flitwick sent me to fetch Severus." He held up the note as proof of his lie. "He is needed immediately to discuss," He licked his lips, knowing Severus was staring. "personal matters."
She gave a swish of her wand sending the note flying towards her, and catching it in one swift motion. After studying it for a moment she cleared her throat. "Get on then." She nearly snarled, her voice deeper than a lady of her height should be cursed with. Severus stood and hesitantly followed the other boy out the door. Once the door closed Theo grabbed the collar of the other boy's robe and practically dragged him down the corridor and into an empty classroom. Shutting the door, he slammed Severus up against the door and then proceeded to place a locking and silencing charm on the room. Without a moment to waste Theo pressed his body onto him and they began to kiss.
Severus's breath began to quicken as one hand slipped under Theo's Shirt, resting fervently on his waist. Severus pulled away, allowing them both to breathe. "What do you need?" he purred, using his other hand to feel his way up Theo's neck, entangling his fingers in his dark hair. Theo looked at him desperately as the memories he hopelessly tried to tame, began to resurface. Images and sounds began to play vividly within his head. Severus could almost see them through Theo's cold eyes.
"To forget."
After fastening his belt Theo sat down next to his friend. Their backs bare, leaning against the cold stone wall. Severus took a deep breath. When he released, blue swirling smoke streamed from his lips. He handed Theo a short cigarette and he gratefully inhaled.
"So," Severus spoke after a moment. "How is your new boy toy? Is he as sappy as Newt, or as clingy as Ariel?"
Theodore grimmiced. If he was a whore, Ariel was a slut. Ariel would stroke anything, no matter who or what it was. Theo, at least had some dignity. "Neither really, quite the opposite. I can seem to get him to stay put. And what makes it worse," He added, pausing to inhale the blue smoke again. " I have eyes near everywhere and I still can hardly keep track of him."
The long haired boy laughed so hard he began coughing due to the smoke in his lungs. "I'm sorry." He choked. " He really has you wrapped around his finger, doesn't he?"
Theodore's head fell back to the wall. "No." He forced. "He's just confusing." The other boy hummed in response. They heard the Hogwarts bells ringing in the distance, signaling the end of the school day.
"Great, you made me miss classes." Severus grunted as he stood. He dressed and unlocked the door. "You know where to find me." He hummed just before closing the door, leaving Theodore sore against the cold stone, craving another cigarette.
He stood and began to dress, The moments from a few days prior replayed in his mind.
"I bet two galleons he's been taken before." chortled Peninver, Corydon
"I bet you three he's a virgin." Newt retorted.
No way! "He was obviously taken before and left completely heart broken, didn't you hear the passion in his voice? Peninver mocked dramatically, feigning a faint over Regina's Lap
"No." Regina cut in "All I heard was Blah blah blah, depressing shit, blah blah blah."
The group broke out in laughter. Theodore shifted in his seat. "Well virgin or not, he sounds like he needs to get laid."
"I bet five Galleons I can get him in bed in two days!"
"I bet six I can get him in one!"
"Oh please." Severus scoffed at the group's undignified demeanor. "There is no way anyone of you can get him to cave in less than three." He stood walking over to the table Ashton sat at moments before, running his fingers over the worn surface. "He obviously has major trust issues.
"And for good reason." Violet glared at Theo. "People don't build walls for nothing. He could have been severely hurt by someone he trusted."
Theo smirked. "Ten galleons in three days. No one can resist my charms."
"What makes you think he even likes guys?" Violet challenged.
"Well if he doesn't, then he will when i'm finished."
Theo rubbed his cold hands over his face, returning to the present moment. He had two more days before he was out ten galleons and he wasn't even close to breaking down Ashton's walls.
