the plauge part 2

Chapter 6: Extra findings.

We left the house the other day and kept to ourselves. While we were driving we had stoped at a store to restock on food. When we stopped we couldn't hear the screaming at first. Ryan, Alice , and I walked through the store finding whatever we could. Ryan had frozen in place.

"Shhh! Do you hear that?"

I looked around and waited for a second before hearing the scream. I was the first to start running towards the noise. I was much faster than Alice and Ryan, since I had been in cross country, and track from 8th to Senior year in highschool, so I was the first to come upon the noise. At first I did not see the tall man amoung all the zombies. I ran over and started cutting the zoms heads off with a samuri sword I had found at the house. I then saw the source of the scream..a little boy in an office. The office must have been a managers office. I ran to the door of the office to get the little boy but stopped when he pointed at the mass of zombies. I looked among the rotted creatures and spotted the tall man slicing the heads of the dead. The little boy mouthed 'help him', so I ran over and started swiping and cutting heads. After just a few minutes all the zombies had been decapitated. I walked over to the door of the office and opened it. The boy ran over to me and hugged me around the waist. He seemed to be only 4 years old. Tears started to weld up in my face. Ryan walked over to the tall dark colored man.

"Have you been bitten?" Ryan asked.

"Yeah.I have."

The man showed his arm with a swollen bite mark, raw flesh ripped from the bone and blood oozing out.

Ryan looked at the man and the man looked at me.

"What about her? She's been bitten as well!" The man pointed at me.

Ryan slowly opened his mouth to explain.

"Korii has been bitten for several weeks now, we have reason to believe that she could be...well..immune, and I'm sorry man, but you don't look so good."

The man shook his head and Ryan and him walked away. They were gone for only 10 minutes and Ryan was the only one to come back. The boy was sill latched to my waist, sobbing. I looked down and wanted to cry.

"Hey. It's okay. What's your name sweet heart." I tried to comfort him qnd he seemed to take it well. He soon stopped crying and answered my question.

"My name is Tyler."

His speech made the y's sound like w's and he still had tears dripping down his delicate face.

"Well Tyler, I'm Korii, that's Alice, and that's Ryan."

I pointed to each of us, indicating who we were.

"Tyler. Ryan, Alice, and I are going to keep you safe okay?"

Tyler shook his head yes. I grabbed his hand and led him to the car. He got in the back with Alice and fell asleep right away along with Alice. Ryan had put all the supplies in the trunk and we drove off.
