"Come on, Mia, we HAVE to try this cute little café that I heard about! It has cute little tea cakes, Scottish Shortbread Fingers, Irish and Scottish tea...Oh! It sounds so wonderful!!" Ashlynn sang, holding up the Yelp app right to my face with Olivia's Daytime Café pulled up.

"Ok! Ok! We'll go there!!" Holding my hands up in mock surrender, I grabbed my car keys to my Jeep and headed out with Ashlynn trailing behind me.

Just before we got in my glorious slick black Jeep, Ashlynn grabbed my hand, pulling me into a hug. "I LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH!!" She screamed, picking me up and twirling me around. Wow, I thought to myself as she spun me around, people must think we're a bunch of idiots right now.

I told her to put me down, then I hugged her back telling her, "What kind of best friend would I be if I didn't take you to the café you've been begging me to take you to for the past three hours?"

Ashlynn then smiled sheepishly at me. "Whoops?" She said in more of a question then a sorry statement.

"It's ok. After all, I DO love Scottish Shortbread Fingers!" I said, winking at her. "Now, we've got to hurry! After all, Bob and I don't have all day!" I reminded her, jumping into the car.

Ashlynn laughed in a fit of giggles, getting into the other side of the car. "I still can't believe you named your car Bob!!"

"What can I say? He's my baby!" I said, patting the steering wheel. Ashlynn erupted into another fit of giggles, and with that, we rode off to Olivia's Daytime Café.

We soon arrived at the café, where I had ordered Scottish tea with like five orders of Scottish Shortbread Fingers. I mean, Scottish Shortbread is my favorite Scottish dessert of all time!!

Ashlynn ordered some Irish tea and tea cakes. I knew she was going to to get tea cakes!! After all, she loves sugar...even though it always seems she's on a sugar high all the time with her hyper carefree personality. Her personality is what makes our friendship unique, though. We're not polar opposites, but we're close enough.

"Helloooo? Mia? Are you even listening?! I was telling you about this fine tea served here!" Ashlynn scolded, dramatically picking up her tea cup.

"No, sorry, not really," I told her honestly.

"What am I ever going to do with you?" She laughed, exposing her pearly whites, flipping her straight blonde hair behind her.

"Here's your bill, miss." The waiter gave me the bill, and I started to pull out my Visa card, until Ashlynn pulled out a huge wad of money, giving it to the waiter before I could even hand him my card.

If looks could kill, Ashlynn would be dead. "Sorry...?" She squeaked, with a apologetic smile.

"I told you, I was going to pay this time." I told her sternly, though I knew this conversation was probably going to end into another fit of giggles.

The waiter was soon back with the change, and we left without me paying, much to my dismay. When we got in the car, Ashlynn pulled out the puppy eyes. "Pleeeasssse don't be mad at me, Mia. You deserved it!! After all, I did nag you to go to Oliva's Daytime Café for three hours!!!"

"That's true." I said, pulling my long, curly brown hair out of my face as I turned the ignition on.

Ashlynn's crystal blue eyes got wide. "Thank you, Mia!"

"Yup," I said, popping the 'p'. "I'm only forgiving you because we're best friends, and that's what best friends do." I said giving her a hug. "I can't pretend for long that I'm mad at you."

"That is true. You're a horrible lier." She said, giggling.

Little did I know, that this would be the last carefree conversation I would ever have with my life long best friend.
