I stare at Blackstar wishing he'd just tell me already. My bath is nearly over and he hasn't said a word. He's been strangely quiet. "Soul. What do you remember from before you met Maka?" he asked handing me a pen and setting the paper down on the side of the bath. I wrote "I was insane," No. Before that." he said. I looked at him confused. I don't remember anything from before then. I barely remember anything from when I was mad. I wrote "Nothing" on the paper. He sighed. "Soul, about twelve years ago, you stumbled upon the academy."

What? My eyes went wide with surprise. "You were pretty beaten and bloody. Maka found you first, right after her mother died. She took you to this tree house in the woods. We all would go there. But you started acting strange. You kept killing animals and bringing them to the tree house. Eventually you started eating them and we got scared. We told Lord Death about it. He locked you in the cellars for a while. When he let you out you started up again. Almost instantly. You ran away. Eventually we heard about multiple deaths in close areas but we never thought to look in the forest. Three years before that it caught fire. We thought everything in it died, including you. Then one day you jumped in front of Maka. You know the rest." He told me.

I stared at him amazed. So they do know me. I just don't remember. That explains a lot actually. I gave Blackstar a big toothy grin as did he. "Come on! Let's get you back in the bed!" He shouted back in character. He helped me up and back onto the toilet seat helping me with drying off. Man I can't wait to get my prosthetics. Then I won't need all this extra help. Blackstar helps me back to the bed and everyone stares at me anxiously. I smile at them as Blackstar nods.

Tsubaki helps Maka into my bed and I pull her close with my available arm. She smiles and I feel my heart skip again. She's so beautiful. Back in the circus, every time they tried to take her I'd tried to stop them. Despite my injuries I'd fight to the best of my ability. Do I love her? Back in the forest, when I pulled that move on her, why did I do that? At the time I guess you could call it almost rape but, I couldn't do that. There was something about her, so I took a bite to mask the fact of what I was actually going to do. Damn, I; m really freaking weird.

Stein walks in and tells us we can go home as long as someone can take care of us. Surprisingly Crona volunteers. Stein puts me in a wheelchair and Maka in another. Him and Crona wheel us back to Maka's house as the other return home. Soon as we're back Stein returns to his lab.
