"Daddy look I'm done, mommas gonna love it". I tell my dad as I hold up my butterfly card I made for her.
It's Mother's Day and me and daddy make her cards together every year.
"It's beautiful lighting bolt". He hugs me and picks me up kissing me.
"Can we go give it to her now". I'm so excited to give it to her that I can't wait anymore.
"Of course lets go". We walk through our gigantic house and suddenly we here a scream.
Daddy stops his movements and looks around.
"Daddy what was that". I ask in fear and cling onto him more.
"Shh be quiet storm". When he uses my name I know to be quiet.
"Shit Reign". Once daddy says my moms name I worry in fear.
With me in his arms he runs down the steps and into the kitchen where my mom was eating her breakfast we made for her, while we finished the cards.
We make it to the kitchen and we see my mom laying on the floor with blood coming out of her.
"MOMMA!" . I scream and daddy runs to her.
"Zion go, take Storm with you". My mom says quietly and with a struggle.
"You think I'm gonna leave you here, yeah no let's go". Daddy puts me down and helps my mom up.
"They're coming Zion". Who's coming?
"I don't give a fuck, I knew I should've kept my security for today. Fuck".
"It's okay baby". My mom cooes my dad and I'm confused.
We walk into a space off the kitchen and my dad pulls out a gun from a desk.
"Daddy why do you have that".
"So we don't get hurt Storm, come here". I walk over to my mom and dad and they talk quietly.
"Storm we love you and always remember that. Remember that you are strong and the lighting bolt to everyone's life. Remember to never let anyone hurt you and never give up. No matter what we will always love you". My dad says while my mom has tear streaming from her face.
"I love you guys too but why did...." I get cut off by a loud bang.
"Shit, Storm go hide in there and don't make a sound. Don't come out until you see the police okay". Daddy orders I'm scared and don't wanna leave so daddy picks me up and takes me there.
"I love you forever lighting bolt". He kisses my one last time and tears stream down my face.
"I love you too daddy and mommy". He closes the cabinet door and there are small holes through it so I can see.
Suddenly a big guy and other guys in black come to where I am and shoot my mom, then my dad in the heads. I'm tempted to scream but I'm listening to daddy. Tears are running down my face as my hand is over my mouth.
"Dumb fuckers, now where the FUCK is the girl".
Storm
I wake up gasping for air, screaming as that nightmare of my parents replay in my head every fucking night. Why me is all I think about. Why the fuck did this happen to me? Why did god have to take away the best thing in my life? Just why? I ask myself this everyday and I never get an answer.
I'm drenched in sweat, tears running down my face and next thing I know Aurora my best friend dashes through my door and comforts me.
"Shh, it's okay Storm it's okay". She lays next to me on my bed hugging me. I cry into her arms.
"All I want is my parents back". I cry into her harder.
"I know babes, but remember it's your birthday today and they would want you to celebrate it". I stop crying and look at the clock. Damn it's 3:30 am and I could care less about my birthday.
"I'm sorry for waking you". This is what happens every night and she's the one always by my side. I always feel bad.
"Girl please your my best friend, I'm always gonna be here. Now let's go back to sleep so we can party tomorrow". I chuckle and we both lay back in my bed.
Damn where would I be without this girl.
