The D-Day

"16th October 2021" I uttered today's date as I was watching my mobile. I smiled genuinely forgetting all the worries in me. It has just been a few minutes since the day has begun. This date may bring great memories for csk fans I mean the 15&16 of October. Y?? Coz csk has made a fairytale come back once again. Again??

Yes again after 2018 this is the second time they are making a fairytale comeback. I'm sure anytime there is a discussion about a comeback csk's chapter would be at the top list

But that's not the thing. What I meant is yes I'm happy that csk won but I'm happier about one more thing I am gonna meet maahi bhai finally. Yes I know I met him a few days ago but it was not a proper meeting. I mean now I am gonna met him properly in a blue jersey again. 2 years 3 months 6 days since the day we saw maahi bhai wearing the blue jersey.

Though we are in the same hotel I mean after the dreadful defeat at the hands of kkr we joined the team India hotel which is coincidentally the hotel where CSK is staying. I met ro, Rahul, boom and others who were already here for WorldCup after their ipl campaign. Though the heartbreak of not winning at least a cup for RCB as a captain was painful somehow I just left it away as there is a much bigger responsible waiting for me. This is my first ever and will be the last T20 world cup as captain. The first T20 world cup after maahi bhai's retirement.

I don't know how many are happy with my decision of leaving the captaincy from the T20 format but I'm sure that though the world would be against me my family, my brothers, and my maahi bhai will always be with me. The world cup going to start in a few more days need my sole attention and I'm ready to put my best into this campaign and win it for India. And maahi bhai joining as a mentor would be an additional strength to our team. 

I know the whole cricket fraternity was delighted to know that maahi bhai was going to be a mentor for team India. Though I tried my best to convince him he wouldn't listen to me but ya thanks to Sourav sir and Jay Shah sir for making him agree. And maahi bhai being maahi bhai didn't take any charges for mentoring us.

Coming out of my trance I heard a roar of whistles and cheers from the other part of the hotel where CSK was residing which means the team has come back after ending their campaign success with the trophy in their hands. I looked up around my room where mostly all of our team was waiting for maahi bhai. Their faces were glowing like stars in a second after hearing the cheers.

It was so loud that for one second we felt that we are in a stadium. Of course, it should since they played like pure champions.

"I think they arrived," said an ever-enthusiastic Harry grinning.
"Of course Dumbo we can clearly say just by hearing it" encountered a smiling boom earning a glare from Harry and a roar of laughter from others.
"CSK started live" shouted our very own rahuliya from the seat next to me gaining everyone's attention.
Everyone peeped into his iPad looking for maahi bhai to appear on the screen. But as usual, he let youngsters enter first and that too rutu who performed brilliantly and won the orange cap. He entered first with the trophy in his hands lifting it high in the air with a stump in the other hand followed by the man of the final fantastic Faf. Then one by one entered in the middle entered maahi bhai.

The match they played today was just epic. In years, no one would forget this maybe. A pitch where the toss plays a major role and losing the toss but still believing themselves when the game has been in the opposition's court and turning the game towards them and finally winning the cup. It was a tremendous performance from each one of them starting from their openers to the death over bowlers. They truly deserved this.

Virat has just finished his call with his wife and daughter sitting on the balcony and entered his room just to get the sight of the sofa occupied by Jassi and Harry playing games on the mobile, Rahul and sky sitting in a corner and discussing something, Rishu and shrey with bhuvi playing with Agastya, ash at a corner editing his recent YouTube video and of course the bed is occupied by his best friend Rohit Sharma vice-captain of the team.
