Matt threw his controller and just couldn't shake the feeling anymore, resorting to him punching a pillow. "CAN'T I JUST HAVE A MOMENT WITHOUT FEELING LIKE UTTER FUCKING SHIT?!" he screamed before collapsing on the bed. He then felt his anger melt away before getting up again. "What's this thing?" he picked up a book that read "Cybersquad photo album: 2012" in black marker. He opened it up to find photos of him with the other members, as well as the newly added Mariel at that time. He cracked a smile looking at some of the more childish and goofy photos. Before stumbling upon a note next to a picture of Jackie. "I know I was kind of awful towards you, Inez, and Slider the other day, so this letter is I guess, something of an apology of sorts..." it read. Matt's heart sank to his stomach. "Man....I really can be a douchebag sometimes...." he thought before closing the book. "I know what I must do..." he sighed before grabbing the phone.
"Hey Jax, its Matt. Listen I texted to apologize for how I acted today. It took a lot of doubt at first but I came to realize that yes, maybe there are times where we want or need to be by ourselves. I hope you're able to forgive me at your own pace. -Matt"
That guilty feeling then began to fade away, it felt refreshing to not have the feeling of being hit by a ton of bricks. "I think I might run out and buy Jax a few things, just to show that I am indeed sorry..." Matt said before putting on his shoes. Just as he left, a text popped up, but he didn't answer...
Back at the mall, Jackie was waiting for Matt to respond. At first she thought he didn't actually mean what he said and that it was just some fake apology. But Julie reassured her that Matt was probably just busy. Inez and Slider were busy eating soft pretzels and drinking pink lemonade. "So, Julie. Tell us a bit about yourself?" Inez said out of pure curiosity. "Well, I'm sure Jackie filled you in on our background. But... I work at the local cafe, as Mariel found out thanks to me knocking her down, sorry about that by the way." Julie explained. "Its fine, I've dealt with it before." Mariel chuckled as the girl gave the others more information about her. They all had their moments, up until it was time for the mall to close down, thus reminding Jackie and the others that they had to leave soon.
Once at the bus stop, Jackie and her sister shared a hug and didn't wanna let go of one another. "Please tell me we can stay in touch....please...." Jackie said getting all teary eyed. Joseph was a little squeamish around emotional scenarios like this, much like his girlfriend... "I mean, can't you guys exchange numbers or whatever?" Slider asked. "Oh, that reminds me. This is yours, Jax." Julie said handing Jackie her phone. "I added my number and everything to your contacts." she said wiping Jackie's eyes. Soon, the bus pulled up and everyone piled on. Jackie sat next to Mariel, feeling sad that she had to leave. "Jackie... don't think of this as goodbye, just...see you later!" Inez said. Jackie just looked out the window the whole way home.
